It has become a sort of research work of Confucian classics experts that study the construction of Xian Qin' s chariots because the KaoGongJi, which belongs to ZhouLi, had given a full and accurate description of ancient chariots and cabins. Today, more and more Xian Qin' s chariots and cabins have been unearthed; the method of researching ancientliteratures has changed to the method of observing the unearthed relics, and the study of construction of Xian Qin' s chariots has been the monodrama in Archeology. However, the facts, such as the variance of the unearthed chariots and cabins in the past half-century, the dependence of the denomination on the ancient literature and the complicacy between the ancient literature and the opinions of Confucians in Han and Qing Dynasty, have caused the divarications, disputes and difficulties on the denomination of chariots and cabins. Therefore, it has provided a subject and the extensive applied field for the Exegesis.In this article, I will attempt to have a thorough knowledge of Exegesis, Archeology and the history of science and technology with a view to the ken of Exegesis and Archeology, absorb the achievements of Archeology to put the axe in the helve in the field of explanation of the unearthed chariots and cabins. And I will review the denomination of chariots, cabins and the horse' s harness in modern Archeology with the efficient instrument of Exegesis; judge the divarications and discussions; correct the mistakes that based on the misinterpretation to ancient literatures, for example KaoGongJi, and their exegeses. Thus, these will be beneficial to the denomination of chariots and cabins, demonstrate the opinions of Confucians in Han and Qing Dynasty with the unearthed relics. My goal in the part of INTRODUCTION is to give a diachronic view to the history and the present situation of the researches on Xian Qin' s chariots and cabins, point out the matters in the present researches and express my direction and slant of those researchs.The part of TEXTUAL CRITICISM & RESEARCH, nine sections included, have solved the puzzles such as FuCheXiangYi (辅车相依), DengShiErWangZhi(登轼而望之) , BuJieMaErChiZhi (不介马而驰之) ; corrected and attested the object such as BiNi ((車卑)輗 ) , Sui (绥) , XieQu (胁驱) , Jie ((馬介)) , Ban(靽), Fen (纷) , Yi ((車奇)) , Jue (较) and FuTu (伏兔) .Three sections comprise the part of APPENDIX. The lexical item Xi(系) of Xie (紲) is mistaken for the object GongBi (弓(?)); Sui (绥) in JiaoSui (交绥) and SiSui (死绥) is explained as flag; Opinions of the name of the quadrate cupreous pot in cupreous cabin unearthed from the QinShihuan' s mausoleum vary. I will correct them, or speculate on them.
