The research purpose of this article is to explain the relationship between the citizen literatures in Ming Dynasty and city entertainment literature and thus revealed the basic characteristic of it. As to citizen literature in Ming dynasty, this article hold the following points: it is popular in the city: it. can satisfy the citizen's demands in literature and enjoyment of entertainment; it's main description centered around popular living scenes and emotional purposes; to some degree works reflecting and collecting rebelling thought and value of the time can all be looked on as the subject of this paper. Therefore this article hold that entertaining is not only the living style of citizen literature but also the internal rules of the context and form and it's the covering color of new humanism thoughts.The first part of the article is focused on the explanation of Wu Yue city entertainment literature and look into the living situation.First it researched the environment of city entertainment from the aspects of substance and spirit. During late Ming Dynasty, economy of city commodity is advanced, especially in Wu Yue area which is famous for its wealth. Its economy was in a leading position and the standard of urbanization was also the highest. From the aspact of prevailing social custom. Wu Yue literature was a word of fashion and it had an obvious advantage in area literature. From the aspect of country's literature policy. it was different from previous severe punishment. In the Late Ming Dynasty the upper ruler hardly interfered in entertainment literature. And from the aspect of philosophy, the thought of heart rose, admitting that people's demands for entertainment was right and it provided another possibility of the survival and development in urban literature, in all. from the aspects of substance and spirit, city literature had no living obstacle in the late Ming Dynasty.Then from of the constitution of city entertainment culture, it analysed the relation between entertainment activity and citizen literature. In the late Ming Dynasty, plays of festival entertainment were more and more important. Sing without musical instruments was prosperous, from which we can see the process of transformation in southern and northern tunes and the trace of how tunes came into the scholar's class. Citizen literature was various and had clear characters.
