Qing Shi-wen Made "study

This paper discusses the forming process and the development of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian", a kind of special compiling form of documents, from the point of compiling study. Through case study at several typical "Jing-Shi .Wen-Bian"s, the paper analyses their contents, compiling intentions and compiling processes. The paper also tries to find the reason of the rise and decline of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" in late Qing Dynasty.Compiling "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" purposefully and systematically began from Ming Dynasty. But until the appearance of "Huang-Chao Jing-Shi Wen-Bian", the compiling form was established formally. Many other "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian"s which were published later all followed this form and only occasionally change slightly. Shortly before 1898, "Huang-Chao Jing-Shi-Wen Xin-Bian" was published, which changed the original compiling form and established the new one. "Huang-Chao Jing-Shi-Wen Xin-Bian" had a far-reaching influence. The new compiling form was very popular and imitated by lots of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian"s published in the end period of Qing Dynasty.The result of case analysis indicates that the compilers of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" had comparatively complicated identities, and their compiling purposes were also different from each other. Some expressed a certain opinion. Some satisfied the personal hobby. Some tried to keep the historical data. Others only wanted to make money. The contents of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" changed in different periods. Even if they paid attention to the same question, the solutions were also different to some extent."Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" had a tremendous influence in late Qing Dynasty. Since the emergence of "Huang-Chao Jing-Shi Wen-Bian", a lot of others followed one by one. The unique phenomenon of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" came into being. The appearance of this phenomenon had its deep-seated reasons such as serious social crisis and the reform of merit system.When revolution thoughts flourished in the end of Qing Dynasty, the thoughts of political reform which was thinking basis of "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" became unacceptable gradually. Moreover, with the abolishment of merit system, "Jing-Shi Wen-Bian" lost its most important readers. So it quit the historical stage in the end.
