Cultural industry has become the pillar of modern economy, important mark of comprehensive national strength of a country and a new growth point of national economy. So it is known as sunrise industry of the 21st century. Cultural industry has a bright outlook in China. But due to its short history in China, the insufficient theoretical studies and not much experience, there are many conflicts and problems in its development. Compared with other industries, the development of cultural industry has its own characteristics and rules. The understanding and mastering of problems of the several key relationships in the development of cultural industry will have a direct influence on whether Chinese cultural industry can develop healthily and smoothly.Guided by Marxist Labor Theory of Value, materialist dialectics and historical materialism, the thesis analyzes and studies the problems of several important relationships involved in the course of the development of cultural industry by integrating theories with practices. The thesis reveals the inner links and distinctions by distinguishing cultural cause and cultural industry and by analyzing and illustrating the relationships such as ideological attribute and commodity attribute of cultural products, supply and demand of cultural commodities, allocation and macro-control of cultural resources, and developing cultural trade with foreign countries and sharpening competitive edge of cultural industry in international market. Then the thesis proposes suggestions on principles, measures for handling the above relationships and solutions for developing cultural industry. These are meaningful for theoretical studies on intensive development of cultural industry and the practices of developing the industry.
