Blue and white ware was being exported in great quantities to the Islamic world during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty. It is one of the brilliants achievement between China and Persia cultural exchanges. In the 9th century, the highly esteemed qualities of Chinese porcelain encouraged the Islamic potters to recreate the visual effect. Their efforts led the invention of an opaque white glace that masked the yellow clay ware. The pure white surface provided an ideal venue for colorful motifs, and soon cobalt blue decoration was being added. These Islamic blue and white ware and the cobalt-blue pigment, 'Sulaim(?)n(?)' made their way to China with the Muslim merchants, that probably inspired the Chinese potters to make their experiments. The Yuan dynasty white porcelain decorated with cobalt-blue decoration revealed new trends in Chinese ceramics, namely, the influence of Islamic culture on Chinese porcelain. "Blue and white" became the trade mark of Chinese export porcelain which also influenced German Meissen potters to create their first white porcelain in 17th century.
