The course during which the Confucianists transformed the all-time low of their fate into the summit of it is the main object of this paper.Chapter 1 mainly analyze two things: the movement of the first Emperor of empire of Qin and monopolization of the legalists. At the very beginning of the establishment of political power, the great emperor took measures to realize the centralization of the power of the empire and arrogation of power in the imperial government and tried every method to protect his regime through making great service and relating it to the Great Law of Wu De. Meanwhile, the Confucianists retired from the public and political life.Chapter 2 focuses on the doctrines of the early pat of Han Dynasty. During this period, the most outstanding phenomenon is the revival of various Schools of Thoughts. In these Schools of Thoughts are the Eclectics, the legalists, the Taoists, the Political Strategists, the Naturalists and the Military Strategists. There are four kinds of Confucianists whom we can find in the political life of Han Dynasty:the first kind is those who took part in the war between Han and Chu; the second kind is those who expounded their ideas in writings; the third kind is those whose writing became the common standard work; the forth kind is those who made great contributions to the cause of the confucianists' by teaching and researching; the fifth and also the last kind is those who seized every chance to gain advantage by trickery. In this time, the confucianists paid attention to absorb the quintessence of other Schools of Thoughts and make vigorous service to win the acceptance and support of the regime of Han Dynasty.Chapter 3 tries to find out the very truth: what and who really brought the situation in which the Confucianists was worshiped? After careful and comprehensive contrasting and comparing, the author believes that Gong sunhong, instead of Dong zhongshu, brought the emperor Han wu di around to support the cause of the Confucianists and that there were limits to this worship towards the Confucianists.Chapter 4 endeavors to expound relationship between the appointment of confucianists and the fact Huo Guang had actually usurped the powerof Empire of Han. The encounter and experience of Liu he and Yan yannian is the evidence of the usurpation. During this period, the confucianists threw in their lot with the usurper.Chapter 5 mainly discuss the cultural policy of Emperor of Han xuan di. The policy is characterized by depreciation and denouncement. Through tortuous ways, the emperor carry out the policy continuously and unremittingly. Under the rule of the very emperor, government officials who were good at and fond of tyranny in the deep while adopted Confucianism by appearance.Chapter 6 is the last section of the whole paper. Under the rule of the emperors of Han yuan di as well as Han cheng di, the Confucianists was at last venerated genuinely. The social position of the Confucianists was greatly elevated. As a result, confucianists began to form an alliance to struggle against their adversaries and opponents among which are eunuchs and relatives of the emperor on the side of his mother or wife.
