Since 1990, the question of Modernity having been one important academic problem in the study about China's culture theory and the China's contemporary literature. At present, there still exists a lot of dissidences in the academic area when talking about the definition of Modernity and the understanding of its historical value, for some scholars, from the post-modernity and anti-modernity perspective, doubts about the historical progress brought by Modernity and also doubts and deny the pursuit towards Modernity, which is expressed in Wu Si new literature works and Lu Xun's creation. Facing those misunderstanding and challenges towards Lu Xun and Wu Si new literature's pursuit for Modernity, the writer believes it is necessary to re-understand and rethink about the definition of Modernity as well as its some related historical and cultural choice.
