Uighur Literature is a very important element of Chinese national literature. On the progress of modernization of Uighur Literature, criticism has become a very important thinking method in accordance with literary creation to develop. From the concepts of literary theory, consciousness of criticism, literary forms of criticism, styles and research method of criticism all have gradually been transformed from classicalism to modernism. The Uighur literary criticism in the20th century means the modern enlightenment movement in Uighur literature starting from the twenties to the nineties, including the forms of its development, steps of its prosperous progress and the arising process of its modernization.In my dissertation, under the instruction of the theory of art of Marxism and historical materialism, the text tries to make it clear of the growth, forming, development and prosperous progress of modern Uighur literary criticism. The aim is to establish the framework for the Uighur literary criticism in the 20th century. My dissertation consists of introduction, main text body and conclusion.The introduction describes the basic concepts, range, value and meaning of the Uighur literary criticism in the 20th century. This part also introduces the related research situation to state the goal, thinking method and train of thought, It also briefly describes the development and achievement of the Uighur literary criticism in the 20th century.The first chapter states the development of ancient Uighur literary criticism and its traditional traits. This chapter also probes the stop reason of ancient literary criticism and the influence and function of modern enlightenment of Uighur literary criticism.The second chapter states the new culture movement in Xinjiang in the thirties and forties including the change and viewpoints from Uighur modern literary critics, such as Abduhalik Uighur, Lutpulla Mutallip etc.The third chapter explains the cultural situation of Xinjiang from fifties to...
