This dissertation discusses technology progress, system transformation and economic growth in T'ang China(618-907).Climate, light, heat, water and soil are the fundamental elements of extractive industry, any changes of the above elements cause transformation of agriculture. In T'ang Dynasty the climate change and the combinational mode of water and light energy lead to agrotechnical conversion.The progress of technology in T'ang Dynasty created a new method of economic growth. People in T'ang Dynasty made a great progress in technical innovation. With the extensive application of the new technology, the specialized production began to replace the subsistence production, along with the appearance of trade prosperity and area prosperity, which led to the constant emerging of new regional economic centers. New traffic technology resulted in the transformation of commercial formation from the ancient pattern to the pre-modern one. The commercial capital infiltrated into the productive fields.The available institutions in T'ang Dynasty supplied free space to the progress of technology. The technical improvement set a demand on a new economic system, so the central government made the corresponding improvement.
