Narrative Strategy And Text Analysis Of Chinese Contemporary Historical Novels

This article regards the Chinese contemporary historical novel as a research object, sets them in a linguistic environment composed of the evolution of Chinese historical novels since Ming and Qing Dynasties and the present-day culture ideology. It mainly uses a theory method combining structuralism with narrating study to analyze and elaborate the narrative strategy of Chinese contemporary historical novels and the in-depth structure of texts. The article takes the text analysis as a foundation, analyzes the structural form of the contemporary historical novel from two aspects: the value orientation and the main key of emotion. It also points out the prominent and insufficient aspects in the construction of human nature. The article believes that the dialogue existing in Chinese contemporary historical novels between the culture ideology and individual ideology is exactly the important core of the subject spirit.The main body of this article is composed of five parts. The introduction part concisely elaborates the production of the contemporary historical novel from four aspects: linguistic environment, material, ideology and the author. Contemporary historical novels are in a dual linguistic environment of the history of novel and the evolution of culture. They use materials of both words and history, and are limited by the culture ideology during the production. Whereas the expression of author's subject gives a possibility to surmount the limit. The first chapter mainly analyzes style characteristics of the historical novel, points out the view of historical novel in Ming and Qing Dynasties gives a deep significance to the argument that we should regard the historical novel as novel or history, the basic trend of historical novels, the utility value of historical novels that Liang Qichao emphasized, the entertainment of historical novels that Wu Jianren put emphasis on and the pursuit of human nature in historical novels before and after May 4th in 1919. They have already been accumulated in fact to the rules of the style, which must be first obeyed in writing a historical novel. The second chapter lays emphasis on analyzing the forms that practical rationality existing in the contemporary historical novel.
