| Through the deconstruction of the new historical novels, with the historical philosophy and value changing, Chinese contemporary historical novels presents a complex situation since 1990's.In the description of history there are clustered problems. To a same historical text, there usually are contrary evaluations: to affirm its reversal signification from neo-historicism standpoint, or to criticize its nihility risk from traditional historicism standpoint. Why historical discourses have so varied opinions? Are there a great gulf fixed between the dissolution and construction? Do traditional historicism and neo-historicism must confront each other? Even in the inner part of traditional historical novels, conservative and radical, jesting and serious, also is becoming uproarious. Is it so difficult to look for the integrity of history? Does history recounting no longer have Utopian spirit guarding in the value abruptions and discourse diversities circumstance?Via reading a great deal of historical novels written since 1990's,this thesis detected that under the uproarious appearance, the three parts ofhistory recounting──raditional historical novels, revolution historicalnovels and new historical novels──are gradually merging andre-claiming to "epic" together. The confliction of various historicalphilosophies and the perplexity of value in history recounting──revolutionary, conservative or mundane──just broke the mode of "oldepic" which emphasizing "historical" and despising "poetic". They haven't give up spirit guarding, however, remold "epic" by the confliction of ideas.
