The article re-tidies the written-record inscriptions which is concerned about the sources of the oracle bones( that is what the scholar usually named Five Written-record Inscriptions: shell-bridge, shell-tail, shell-back, bone socket and the surface of bone). The content includes the following five parts. The preface introduces some terms which relate to the subject of the article, defines the inscriptions on the recorded events. After summarizing and commenting on the precursors' achievement ,the author talks about their different types and finally points out the key research items to be furthered. The first chapter construes the "shi(示)" "zhao(肇)" "zhu((?))"" qi(乞)" " tun(屯)" which are correlative to the Five Written-record inscriptions. As for " shi (示) " , the article proves that it means to pay from thewritten-record inscriptions and divination inscriptions, it may be read"shu(屬)" ; since the "(?)" wasn't discussed by the precursor , the article combines the oracle bone inscriptions unearthed east of the Huayuan Village, and discusses the uses of (?), (?), (?). considering them as the same character, they ought to be the primeval form of the "zhao(肇)" whose meaning is"sending"; the article emphasizes that the form "(?)" of the "zhao(肇)" in bronze inscription is different from the "qi (啓) " , for the "qi(啓)" always has the form of "you(又)" in oracle bone inscription of the Yinxu and bronze inscriptions of the western Chou, It was after the western Chou that the"you(又)" is wrongly replaced by the "pu(攴)" .the "zhu((?))" hasn't been refered yet in the field of research. The author suggests that it has the meaning of delicating . The " (?) " in li group bone shell inscription was often recognized as"qi(乞)" .This point of view is right, the "qi(乞)" means not only demanding, but also giving. Besides The "tun(屯)" is closely related to the nature of the Five Written-record Inscriptions, Both its form and meaning have been combed carefully and overally. The second chapter discusses the Five Written-record Inscriptions entirely which have been seen in oracle bone inscriptions currently, and on the basis of this, the author focuses on analysing the definition types and formatic features of the Five Written-record Inscriptions respectively. The third chapter investigates the Five Written-record Inscriptions' nature of paying tribute, the storage procedure and the usage charactistics in these inscriptions acrrording to the meaning of verbs. The mantic oracles are almost contributed from exterior places and bones often come from the local place. The "ru(入)" "lai(來)" "yi(以)" in oracle inscription always reveal the source where they were from, these kinds of oracle may be uncarved, they need to be carved in the carving organization, then be delivered to the divination organization by the "shi(示)" . That's why the sentences with "shi(示)" usually follow the ones of the "ru(入)" "lai(來)" "yi(以) .The "qi(乞)" usually appears in the inscription engraved on the bone, because it has special meaning, it has not only the same uses with the "ru(入)" "lai{來)" "yi(以) , but also with the "shi(示)" .The fourth chapter analysies the same contributive recorded in inscriptions, then discusses the so-called ''the historical official's signature'. Finally the author discusses inscriptions with different groups in the same version.
