The studing of the "Xianghe geci"(相和歌辞) is worth of studing in the part of the history of Chinese ancient music and literature. The thesis studies and discusses "Xianghe geci" in a fairly detailed way in terms of philology, musicology and literature.Chapter One, as the prologue, reasonably defines "Xianhe geci" by combing historicalinformation. Based on such a definition, the thesis compares the conception differences in"Xianhe ge" (相和歌) and "Qingshang yue" (清商乐) as well as those in "Xianghe daqu"(相和大曲) and "Qingshang daqu" (清商大曲) . Then, the thesis generalizes the charactersof "Xianghe geci" as being secular, realistic, and harmonic. In the second chapter, the collection standard of Guo Maoqian is specified by reviewing the "Xianghe geci" part in his Yuefu Poetry Anthology. Based on the fact that the compilation of "Xianghe geci" part in Guo Maoqian's book is different from that in Musical Record of Ancient and Current Time by Shi Zhijiang, Music History of the lui Song Dynasty (420-479) by Shen Yue, Annals of Music History by Zheng Qiao, and Essential Explanations to Yuefu Poetry by Wu Jing, the thesis argues that in his collection Guo Maoqian has chosen mainly from Musical Record of Ancient and Current Times, and while thinking about other factors he has attached the same importance to musical factors and the analysis of poems' meanings. Relying on the "Xinaghe geci" part in other books, the thesis adds to the contents and the poems with the same titles in the "Xianghe geci" part in Yuefu Poetry Anthology, and organizes those poems with the same contents but different titles. The third and fourth chapter study the geographic character and the evolution of Xianghe yuege (相和乐歌) from the perspective of musicology. The third chapter starts from the song-poem content of Bibliographic Treatise, Chronicles of the Han Dynasty and by corresponding the song-poems to geographic cultural circles, the chapter makes an initial judgment, that is Yuefu collected poems and songs mainly from the areas around Beijing, Shandong Province and the area south of Yangtz River. From the perspective of geographic character, the thesis analyzes the style differences of Xianghe yuege in different areas, for example those from the province of Shandong are slow and tender, those in JingChu area are fast and quick, and those in Guanzhong area are solemn and sad. The fourth chapter discusses the evolution of Xianghe yuege in the dynasty of Wei-Jin-South-North. The discussion about the period in Caowei is concerned mainly about three aspects: the essence of Qingshang Agency as an organ collecting secular music, the way of composure combining scholars' creation and musician's adaptation, and the innovation in the artistic form of Qingshang three-tone song-poem and Qingshang daque. In the period of Eastern Jin, Western Jin and the period of North-South dynasty, except few of Xianghe yuege which were sung among the upper class for entertainment, most were collected and arranged by musicians for palace rituals. Finally, the popular names of Xianghe yuege are listed according to the historical record. In the fifth and sixth chapter, the theme and the the literary influence of Xianghe geci is studied from the literary perspective. The fifth chapter studies the serial poems in Xianghe geci, focusing on the creation and spread of the three themes of love, life change and longing for hometowns in order to grasp the change of scholars' imitation. And the chapter explains respectively the evolution of different themes reflected in the poems, such as love in Mulberry Lane, Jiangnan Melodies, Lament of the Chu Concubines, life change in Changge Xing, Duange Xing, Yetianhuangque Xing, and longing for hometowns in Menyouchemeke Xing, Shangliutian, Dongemen Xing, etc. The sixth chapter concentrates on the influence of Xinghe yuege of Han and Wei Dynasties on Chinese literature at first, then the chapter discusses the general influence on poems and then elaborates on the view that in Xianghe geci poems with Xing in the titles shaped the style of seven-word poems in a fundamental way.In the conclusive chapter, it induces and summarizes the "Xianghe geci" on two aspects which are the relationship of the popular music and the highbrow music, and the traditions of the literary imitation.
