A Study On Liu's Family And The Literarure Of Wufuli, Chong'an In Song Dynasty Center By Liu Zihui

Liu's family in Wufuli of Chong'an is a distinguished family in north Fujian. It holds an extreme important position and an extensive influence in the course of cultural education and idealist philosophy in north Fujian as well as in the patriotic history from North Song Dynasty to the joint of two Song dynasties. This family claimed to be the posterity of Chu Yuanwang Liu Jiao of West Han Dynasty, from whom it went to Liu Chu, the governor of prefecture of Wudai-Shiguo period. Liu Chu, together with his three sons Ao, Xiang and Bin, took refuge into Fujian, where Ao lived in Masha, Jianyang, Bin lived in Mafu, Jianyang (called as West Liu), and Xiang lived in Wufuli, Chong'an (called as East Liu). Liu Xiang is the grandfather of movement of East Liu. Liu Zihui, the famous scholar of South Song Dynasty as well as the abecedarian of Zhu Xi, the culmination of the idealist philosophy of Song Dynasty, and the ministers of Song Dynasty like Liu Ge, Liu Ziyu, Liu Ziyi, Liu Gong all proceeded from this trace. Taking Liu Zihui as the center, this paper profoundly analyzes the culture and literature construction of Liu Zihui and his family. It reviews and narrates the lineage inheriting, loyalty and moral integrity family tradition, as well as the literature achievements of the 11 generations from Liu Xiang to Liu Xueji (grandchild of Zihui), and discusses the value of the historical materials like the official career and lives, friends, the main works and the related literature of the main family members. It stresses on the investigation and narration of the official sites and seclusion life, works and lectures etc. of Liu Zihui, and gives importance to the literature achievement, idealist philosophy as well as the influences on Zhu Xi. The study of this paper on Liu Zihui and his family members not only pays attention to the macro understanding but also to the micro discrimination, not only using the traditional research methods of literature and historical science but also studying them under the background of Liu's family.
