This thesis has incorporated others, previous research, their methods and their results as a foundation for the research presented. The study of the Yugur's Ethnic Process will be presented from an anthropological perspective, using existing historical texts san materials as well as personal field study research to address two primary areas. The first topic to be addressed is some problems about the theoretical studies on china's nationality:1. Ethnic Process is the professional concept of ethnology in the theory of ethnic process. We should use the original theory related concepts in practice.2. The scholar of China has revised the conception of the Economic-cultural type theory. But it deviated from the research track of the principle theory, made the theory less useful.3. By comparing area of nationality's definition, we conclude that Stalin's definition of nationality is still valuable, because it reveal that nationality is the stble Community, which has common culture and psychology .We don't need to creat a new concept.4. The theory of ethnic process provide us a new angle of view that can be used as reference, it can define the relationship between ethnic and social and cultural change. The second topic to be addressed is the Ethnic Process of the Yugur. In order to do that well, the history of the Yugur will follow. Futhermore, the author will look at the Yugur's people of today. On the origins of the Yugur, the author indicates that the majority of Yugur originates from Uighurs and Mongols. During the development of history, with adopting elements of different nationalities, such as Zang and Han, by means of nationality merge, Yugur comes into a combination that mainly originates from two main stream merging with multi-"Liu". On the formation of the Yugur, the author's opinion is that in the course of constant migration, some member of Uighurs and Mongols were polarized and lived together, it was the star of the Yugur's Ethnic Process. From 13th century to 16th century, those Uighurs and Mongols were achieved integration in many ways, such as religious, politics Etc. But this group was not stable enough, until after the early Qing Dynasty, the Yugurs was shaped by the strong social pressure.Gathered from prominent aspects of their history, we could found that the Yugur and the Uygur have a common ancestor, but the Yugur's people adhere to the traditional nomadic production and gradually formed its own unique cultural characteristics, the Economic-cultural type is the most important differences between the Yugur and the Uygur.it have played an important role in their Ethnic Process. However, because of the Yugur's population is small, it is more vulnerable to the impact of the local majority, the Yugur live in different regions have different cultures.
