The present susudy is the first systematic empirical work on standard Monglian. The experimental analysis was based on an acoustical datasase recordede by a male speaker, M1, who is an announcer. In addtion, the data gathered from three other speakers who are announces, were analysed in order to check the results obtained from M1's utterences.The major parts of the investigation concentrated on the phonetic system of the standerd Mongolian.There are three major parts in this thesis:In Part One, summarized the basic concept of experimental phonetics, Mongolian experimental phonetics research as well as the research technique, the scope and the significance of this article.In Part Two, short vowels (initial and non-initialshort vowels, non-syllabic short vowels), long vowels (initial and non-initial long vowels) and diphthongs were analysed.In Part Three, vowel harmony and word-stress were analysed, disyllabic and trisyllabic words were analysed and the results showed that word-stress of standard Mongolian follows certain regular common patterns and it is not random. It is related not to pitch and intensity but duration.In Part Four, the consonants of standard Mongolian were analysed and described according to their acoustic features.
