In this paper, the vowel length of Mongolian continuous speech is analyzed by using experimental phonetics theory and method. In the continuous flow of Mongolian sentence, the vowel length is influenced by many factors, and it has different variations.Firstly, the position of the vowels in the sentence and in the word affects the vowel length. The vowels in the word-initial syllables are longer than the vowels in the following syllables, and the vowels in non-initial syllables are relatively short and stable in whatever position in the sentence.Secondly, preceding consonants affect the vowel length. The Aspirated consonants make the vowel length shorter, and the effect of fricatives on short vowels is great, and other consonants don't have obvious effect on the vowel length. After the different consonants, the variation of the length of the short vowels is obvious, and the variation regularity of long vowels is relatively complicated.Thirdly, the vowel nasalization, part of speech, case and sentence rhythm also affect the vowel length.Vowel nasalization can lengthen the vowel sound, and vowels in pronouns have the phenomenon of shortening.Besides, the long vowels are shortened in the auxiliary verbs and the cases, when they are elongated in the interjections. Also, the long vowels are extended in the end of the interrogative and exclamatory sentences. The paper includes 7 parts such as introduction, first chapter, second chapter, third chapter, summarizes, reference and appendix. The part of the introduction mainly summarizes the research status of the vowel length in Mongolian, and introduces the research method, the research significance, the research content and the corpus. The first chapter explain the durational changes of Mongolian vowels in different positions based on the data.In the second chapter, the influence of preceding consonants on the vowel length is analyzed. In the third chapter, the influence of other conditions on the vowel length is analyzed. Finally, the experimental results obtained in the first three chapters are summarized.
