Historical materialism belongs to Marx's social historical theory. Inevitably and indispensably, Marxist historical materialism, as the development and the heritage of Marx'historical materialism, should keep pace with the development of the age.Facing the reality, we can find that there still exist some problems in the theory of Marxist historical materialism. Ever since the Analysis Age, people arrive at the common understanding that the ontology without the critical epistemology is illegal. Marxist historical materialism should not only answers what the history is, but also answer how we get to know the history. It is known that Marx's historical materialism mainly answered the problems brought out by the speculative philosophy of history. The speculative philosophy of history is the theory of historical ontology, so it is inevitable that Marxist historical materialism carried ontological features. Although Marx himself had ever criticized the Epistemology of the speculative philosophy, Marxist historical materialism seldom mentioned it just because of the age. Furthermore, in the idea of the so-called post-history time, Marxist historical materialism is facing great challenge, so it must correspond instead of maintaining its own former ideas.At the same time, there exist some disputes in the theory of Marxist historical materialism. For example, it is generally believed that historical materialism is the application and development of dialectical materialism in the field of history, but I am inclined to accept another point of view, namely, historical materialism is the core of the whole Marx's system of thoughts. Apart from the field of history and real basis for human survival, any system of thoughts can be nothing but the castle in the air. And Marxist dialectics is no exception. It was born of the field of history and never gets out of this field, so it is impossible to be created in ideas and applied in the field of history. This thesis tries to illustrate the historical thinking logic is found in the field of history. The history and historical thinking are from the same process. The ways of thinking determine the forms of historical ideas. So developing the historical materialism's new conception and highlighting the historical materialism revolutionary reform are the main tasks of this thesis.Historical materialism is not the only existing theory that researches on history. The western philosophy of history has a long history with a complete system and order. Marxist historical materialism is an open system; it may well seek the theatrical resources from the western philosophy of history. As a result, this thesis begins with the analysis of the several forms in the western philosophy of history with the purpose of making up a dialogue between the Marxist historical materialism and the western philosophy of history. This is because they have the same focus, namely, the concern and speculation on the human life states and their future. The various forms and ample thoughts are the keys to enlarging the horizon of the Marist historical materialism. However, unlike the western philosophy of history, the history in the historical materialism is not a history in mind but a history of praxis-oriented. It focused neither on the abstract understanding of human nature, nor on the copy of the dead history. It never designed the transcendental mode of history but set up a brand-new philosophy of history.Marxist historical materialism puts the problems of the epistemology and ontology into the real life. From ontological perspective, development of history ultimately realizes the integrity of objective law and subject of history. From epistemological perspective, this kind of new philosophy of history views that the truth of history knowledge is realized in the activities of the subject of history instead of confining itself in the activities of historians. Only in human practical activities can we obtain an objective knowledge of history. The figures in history are the playwrights and actors as well, so that there never exists the antagonism between the historical facts and its copies, thus eliminating the unconceivable thing-in-itself in the historical epistemology. Marxist historical materialism not only terminates the speculative philosophy of history, but also surpasses the analytic and critic philosophy of history. And at the same time developing Marxist historical materialism also correspond to the challenge of historical idea of post modernization.The historical nature of human thinking gets improved in the constant criticism, which abandons the non-historical thinking, which in due course promotes the historical ideas, thus a non-historical idea is replaced by a new historical idea. This thesis attempts to illustrate how the criticism can convert the conceptual history into the true history. In other words, I want to show why Marxist historical materialism is the logical result of the critical progress of historical thinking and the due developing course of the philosophy of history.The transformation of philosophy of history from one to another reflects the promotion and development of human historical thinking. The true historical theory will and must be open. Marxist historical materialism abandons the role of the history in concepts and offers the guarantee of future. Marxist historical materialism in this thesis is considered as the result of the development of human historical thinking. According to my research, the logic that the historical materialism applied in dialectics is also the result of the development of historical thinking. And it is the new critical force among the various views held by those who proclaim that the HISTORY is ending. Marxist historical materialism constructed on the foundation of the proper form of the dialectics is the only great force that can continue the revolution after the collapse of the"Grave Narrative". |
