| The present world system is in a gradual process of transformation, the study of departmental and regional sub-systems have been hot-points of the transformation. This dissertation analyzed China's role and strategy in the future towards the transformation of East Asian regional order and offered some policy recommendations through the basic study of China's peaceful development and the transformation of East-Asian regional order. It has theoretical and practical significance for China to reform the East-Asia strategy, improve East-Asian regional cooperation and China's peaceful development.This dissertation, on the basis of Marxism, mainly employs systematic analytical approach and hierarchy analytical approach. East-Asia is supposed to be a system, political actors are being examined, all factors affecting East-Asia system were being analyzed in a comprehensive, inter-connection and developmental manner, and national units (mainly China) which have impacts East-Asian regional order were being studied.This dissertation was divided into five chapters arranged by times. It explored the regional order existed in East-Asia and put forward theories and policy recommendations for the regional order transformation in East Asia and offered a strategic menu for China.The basic frame of the full text and main view were as follows:Chapter one:"The centre - edge mode: the relation between china and East-Asia under the ancient tributary system (the pre-Qin period --1895) . As a feudal grade order, China was the center of the ancient tributary system. There were different angles to understand the order. In this dissertation, the origin and characteristic of the regional order had mainly been analyzed and summarized from geopolitics, and the impact of the present East-Asian order was pointed out. Chapter two:"The wrestling of three kinds of East-Asia orders: Transition of the Chinese role (1895 --1945)". China changed sharply in Late Qing dynastry, which had much influence to Chinese later development. The result was that china change from"country up of it"to a member of the international community. China was bullied and oppressed because of the domestic and international reasons. On the idea of foreign policy, China changed from the celestial idea towards the sovereign state's idea. From the viewpoint of changing motivation, the order of East-Asia of this period was affected by China's tenacious effort of defending the tributary system, western countries'leading international order ideas, and Japan's attempting to construct "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere ".Chapter three:"Order of East-Asia and the Chinese role's change under the dipolar order background (1945--1979)". During this period, the political changes of Chinese politics had close relations with the forming of East-Asia order, limited by " Cold War ", the regional order in East-Asia had formed order of a kind of " balance of power ". China had played an important role in the order of balance of power in East-Asia.Chapter four:"Chinese reform and open-door policy and its effort to reconstruct East-Asia order (1979--1997)". In East-Asian countries, China had taken the lead in going out of the Cold War mentality, expedites the emergence of new Chinese international strategy and foreign policy, attempt to promote East-Asia to go out of the cold war order by changing china's own foreign policy. After the cold war, the integration trend of regional economics had changed the world cut apart in Cold War. The regional group had become an important behavioral body in the international relations. As a whole, East-Asian regional order began to change from Cold War order to the cooperative order.Chapter five:"Transition of regional order of East-Asia after Cold War and China's strategic options (1997 --)". Compared with Europe and North America, East-Asia had lagged behind in terms of regional cooperation. But since 1997, cooperation in East-Asia had maintained its momentum and showed some special features: (1) crisis oriented policy formulation; (2) establishment and perfection of cooperation mechanism; (3) ascertaining regional free trade area as its goal; (4) the working pattern of small nations activating local big powers; (5)U.S.A. plays an important role in the reconstruction and transformation of East Asian order. Analysis of these features can contribute to the formulation of China's policy regarding regional cooperation. China's peaceful development model became the important fulcrum which constructed the harmonious order in East-Asia.According to the relation between China's peaceful development and the transformation of East-Asian order, there are three transformations here: the first one is the transformation of China; the second one is the transformation of East-Asian order; the third one is the transformation of the relation between China and East-Asia. The interrelation between China and future East-Asia will shape mutually. This kind of interrelation will be stronger and stronger, and it will exert a decisive influence on interests, identity, behavioral rule and norm of both side, and will influence the future East-Asian regional order directly. |
