Marxism Combination Of Chinese Traditional Culture

One of important contents of the nationalization of Marxism is that we should make Marxism integrate with Chinese traditional culture. The integration not only will decide the character and developmental direction of Chinese culture in the present age, but also it will decide the fate of Marxism in China. Therefore, the further study of the problem about Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture will have great theory meaning and practice meaning.Directing by Marxism, and handling with means of history combining with logic, theory combining with practice, comparing and analyzing, etc. the paper wants to study the reason, process, experience, lessen and path of Marxism Integrating with Chinese traditional culture. This paper consists of three parts: the prolegomenon, the main body and the tag.The prolegomenon part mainly explains the significance of choosing this subject and the present state of this problem, mainly research thinking way and means, maybe innovations and deficiencies of the paper.The first chapter tells the reasons of Marxism Integrating with Chinese traditional culture. There are three reasons that Marxism can integrate with Chinese traditional culture. To begin with, Marxism has met the practice need of Chinese society from the contemporary era. Directing by Marxism, Chinese people have solved the task of saving the nation from extinction and built China into a prosperous and strong country basically. More over, the integration has met the same need of Marxism and Chinese traditional culture in culture developmental view. At last, there are many homologies between Marxism and Chinese traditional culture, for example, society ideal, world view, dialectic and history view, etc. The homologies not only have weakened cognizing obstacle when Chinese people accept Marxism, but also have formed the integration point between Marxism and Chinese traditional culture.The second chapter reviews the process of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture in five phases. In the first phase (from the late of 19 century to the early 1920s), Marxism had to leech on to Chinese traditional culture as its force was not strong enough in China. In the second phase (from the early 1920s to the early 1940s), Chinese traditional culture revolted against Marxism by the light of nature as Marxism developed quickly, especially, Chinese feudalistic culture and its deputies attacked Marxism drastically. At the same time, Marxism attacked Chinese traditional culture drastically, too. Chinese Marxian understood the necessity of the Nationalization of Marxism gradually, thus, they advanced and realized assimilation and integration mutually between Marxism and Chinese traditional culture in the third phase (from the early 1940s to"the Culture Revolution"). The forth phase is the era of"the Culture Revolution". As the influence of"left"route and thought,Marxism and Chinese traditional culture was against each other drastically in this era. Chinese Communist Party has held high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics and insisted the right way of the nationalization of Marxism, and academia has paid more attention to the question of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture, thus, they have forced the afresh integration of Marxism and Chinese traditional culture together since the fifth phase of the reform and opening up.The third chapter summarizes the experience of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture. Firstly, the process that Marxism integrates with Chinese traditional culture should be guided by Marxism. This is the need to ensure the character and future direction of Chinese culture in the present age radically. Secondly, there are a lot of distillates and dregs in Chinese traditional culture. We should insist the essential standard which judge distillate or dreg of Chinese traditional culture is that the thought whether adapts the development of productivity and forces the progress of the society. We should adopt the attitude of animadverting on and inheriting to Chinese traditional culture. Thirdly, the key of inheriting Chinese traditional culture is we should inherit its indeed spirits. These spirits include: the spirit of paddling on one's own canoe and constantly striving to become stronger; the spirit of respecting"dao"and cherish"de"and containing many things; the spirit of seeking truth from facts and being practical and realistic; the spirit of paradox of Yin and Yang and dialectical thinking. Fourthly, I generalize the general experience of foreign culture and the special experience of the nationalization of Marxism from comparing the successful experience among the nationalization of Marxism, western theory and Buddhism in the view of the nationalization of foreign culture.The fourth chapter analyses the lesson of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture. Firstly, we mistook distillate for dreg during some phases of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture. Secondly, some relations could not be dealt with correctly. These relations include: the relations between the nationalization of Marxism in politics and academia, the relations between the popularization and perfect of Marxism, the relations between succeeding in and innovation of Marxism. Thirdly, I generalize the general lessons of foreign culture from comparing the unsuccessful lesson among the nationalization of Marxism, Buddhism and Christianism in the view of the nationalization of foreign culture. The fifth chapter expounds three paths of Marxism integrating with Chinese traditional culture. The first path is that we advance popularization of Marxism and solves the problem of main body of the nationalization of Marxism. The second path is that we advance the nationalization of thinking manner of Marxism and solves the problem that how to change thinking manner of Chinese people to modernize. The third path is that we advance the nationalization of the value view of Marxism and solves the problem of idea and value goal of Chinese people.In the tag, I point out that we should not only pay attention to make Marxism integrate with the practice of Chinese revolution and construction in the process of the nationalization of Marxism, but also we should pay attention to unify the nationalization of Marxism and modernization of Chinese traditional culture.
