The research to explore the moral self has never been stopped in societies until now, and even more noticeable. How can the morality been explored in the multi-society? How the study of self identity affects the domain of morality and moral psychology? One beginning logical point of the dissertation is to add self identity to the moral domain.Moral identity, namely moral self-identity can also be called the sense of moral self-identity. It is defined as the moral self conception to make the agent to think what kind of person he would be. It is a social self-schema about one's moral image. Moral identity is a subjective sense of self, a special experienced self, relating to one's position on "what kind of person I am? What kind of person I would like be?" The study of moral identity has certain practical significance to make people of today to think about self and make self to be a moral agent. In the dissertation, we have acquired some important findings about moral identity and get some worthwhile conclusions. It consists four sections:The background of moral identity is articulated in the first section. Also, some related theory and the history of research are systematically hackled. At the beginning, the dual crisis of moral self-identity and social identification of adolescent is pointed out first in the article. After that, the original idea of moral identity, the idea of Hart, Youniss and others about moral identity is analysed in turn. About the relevant theory, we reviewed multi-displined identity of moral personality and give some discussion, also expatiated some study of moral self and moral motivation. In the second section, we systematically illustrated the definition, construct, component and background of moral identity. Firstly, the developmental line of traditional theory of moral self is explored. After that, we analysed Blasi's development model of moral self. He thought moral identity consists of self identity, moral judgment of duty and self-consistent.There is some empirical research and mechanism analysis In the third section. At first, we construed Hart's model of moral identity and illustrate the outer and inner influential factors of moral self based on Hart's model. After that, we give some empirical study to prove our idea base on mechanism analysis. The questionnaire of adolescents' moral identity aboard is modified to suit Chinese, and fine validity and reliability was acquired after the modification. Some exploration of adolescents' psychological development of moral self is done with the questionnaire. The result tells that our adolescents have positive moral self-identity, with a better representation of inner moral self than the outer one.Thirdly, several factors to influence the mechanism of moral self is articulated, such as parenting style, self-esteem, self-consistency and congruency, moral judgment. We developed a related development model of adolescents' moral identity. Some results of the model is that among all the factors, self-consistency and congruency has the biggest index, parenting style and self-esteem are followed. However, the moral judgment hasn't the significant effect. Lastly, for the adolescent blood donor, their moral identity and its relation to adolescents' identified trait has been explored by the empirical study. The result says that they have higher scores than the ordinary adolescents. The forth section is about the construct of moral identity. Two points of view raised by the author are the idea of adolescents' self-construct moral identity and social-construct one. Besides, a pathway from moral understanding to moral identity, and lastly to moral belief is constructed. In the dissertation we also illustrate the function of social service learning during the constructing of moral identity. Educationally, a method of how to set some models and how to do some work of belief education is put forward.
