Students Moral Identity Characteristics And Related Factors

Traditional Chinese culture has been advocating morality education. In school students' moral education is also attached great importance. However, in reality the phenomenon of moral landslide is prevalent; therefore, it is significant to understanding the knowledge about moral behavior, especially the motivation of it. The latest research showed that moral identity would play an important role in the moral motivation. That is the occurrence of moral behavior is not only the result of regarding somebody good, but also the behavior after moral judgment, whose basis is moral identity.On the basis of literature review and open questionnaire investigation, this study constructs the inner structure of moral identity and make up the college. The paper apply the college students' moral identity questionnaire,moral situational judgment survey and moral behavior intention questionnaire to investigate 550 college students, in order to explore how moral judgment influence moral behavior intention. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) According to the analytic result, the paper constructs moral inner structure, including collectivism identity, friendly identity, altruistic identity, grateful identity, responsible identity, diligence and thrift self-discipline identity and aspirant identity.(2) The reliability and validity of writes questionnaire is good, and it can be used as the instrument of college students' moral identity.(3) The general level of university students' moral identity is good.(4) There are gender and grade differences in University students' moral identity. From the gender perspective, the score of girls in charity friendly dimensions are significantly higher than boys, and there is no obvious difference in other dimensions; From the grade perspective, there are significant difference in general level and the specific dimensions.(5) Moral identity and moral judgment respectively predicts moral behavior intention.(6) Moral judgment predicts the moral behavior intention, and this relationship is moderated by the level of individual moral identity.
