Nanjing was the political and cultural center in Jiangnan regions of Ming and Qing dynasties. This paper from two aspects of time and space to explore and compare the Chinese classical popular novels' achievements in writing and carving, and cultural characteristics and laws in Nanjing, in order to highlight regional culture and the internal relations and mutual influence between the popular novels writing and carving and communication, further has a more clear understanding on the Ming and Qing Dynasties popular novels' development and evolution. In this papers, the author will from six aspects to discuss on the basis of "Tradition and Change": First, summarizing Nanjing unique political and cultural status in Ming and Qing Dynasties that created the social environment and the spirit of the times for populair novels' writing, carving and communication. Second, from the imperial examination system and the Nanjing as the examination centre to seek the systematic and cultural reasons why the popular type of book wrote and carved on Nanjing, and the significance of affecting the love novels in early Qing Dynasty. Third, discussing significance of development and beginning of ShenMo novels in Nanjing, opening up new themes of the ShiQing novels and combination with different schools of novels. Fourth, pointing the significance of criticism system by the Chinese classical popular novels that carved and published in Nanjing, and ultimately promoted a typical criticism genre-"Jin ShengTan Faction" formalized and matured. Fifth, exploring the worth and the significance of the art and literature on Jinling schools novels'pictures carved. Sixth, summarizing the types and thinking of the popular novels that story happened in or concerned Nanjing, and discussing the spirit of the times and cultural factors in the novels of "Nanjing memory " literature phenomenon.
