Style criticized in Ancient China is a very important element, and the Ming Dnasty is a "master" era of poetry style criticism. Study of Poetry style criticism in Ming ynasty can help us understanding the contents and methods of china ancient style criticism, have great significance for the establishment of a modern stylistics, but its current academic research is still very weak, this paper attempts to carry out research in this field.This paper includes seven chapters:Chapter 1 describes significance of poetry style criticism studied in Ming Dynasty, status quo, research ideas, methods and innovative. Style is the kind provisions of article and the existing sample, and on this basis, as well as the profile characteristics influenced by other factors. The author believes that the ancient style study can be from four areas: genre, the article body, stylistic and style. In this paper, research methods can be divided into three levels: the basic method such as analysis, synthesis, summarize and comparison; literature method; Poetics of traditional methods.Chapters II and III comb and inspected document form of poetry style criticism in the Ming Dynasty. Chapter II first inspects more than 140 kinds of poetic works, and then this chapter studies the form of these works. Their system is mainly manifested in two aspects. First, schedules previous poetic writings; second, combines contents of other poetic words according to the theoretical framework.Chapter III studies the form of poetry anthology edited in Ming Dynasty. Section I discusses Yuefu study in A poetry and article anthology distinguishing genres by Wu Ne and An anthology distinguishing literature genres in detail by Xu Shizeng. I correct the wrong made by Mr. Luo Genze and Yu Beishan, they think Yuefu were divided into seven kinds of poem in these two anthology, but in fact six kinds of poem. Then I discussed their success and innovation. Section II dealt with an anthology edited by Li Panlong and his concept about style. This section mainly discussed its editing process and principles, relations about ancient poetry and Yuefu, and the point which there were no five-character ancient poems in Tang Dynasty except its ancient poems and so on. We can know Li Panlong's point and understanding about style from this section. Firstly, he described the development of poetry genre. Ancient poems evolved into five words poem and Yuefu in Han Dynasty and Six Dynasty, and then into ancient five-character poem, ancient seven-character verses, five-character regulated verses, seven-character regulated verses and so on. Secondly, all poem genres form their own characteristics of the times and personal style in the process of their development, and then these characteristics and style become their nature and rule. Poetry should be imitating different style of different times and the different author's. Section III discusses two kinds of style,"strong"and"fresh", advocated by an anthology edited by Zhong Xing and Tan Yuanchun.The fourth chapter studies style poetry critical theory was studied. Section I introduced analysis of genre and genre category in Ming Dynasty style criticism. Section II mainly discussed style theory studied in analogy and style type in On poetry by Tanjun. There are two characteristics in Style criticism used analogy: large scale, Participate in the Construction of Poetics. The types of style summarized in Ming Dynasty are more detailed.Chapter 5 discusses the concept of poetry style criticism and studies what is body, language, style, and their relations. This chapter also studies Xie Zhen's style criticism, Li Dongyang's poetry theory, and theory about Qi in Ming Dynasty style criticism. Li Dongyang believes the poem can express people's feeling and heart, the role of poetry is the same with political and education. People can understand truth, political and custom by reciting poem. People also can cultivate their character and encourage ambition by reading poem. Although Li Dongyang's theory is relatively complete, but he practice of criticism is confined to analysis the voice, style, genres and so on. So there are conflicts and crises in his theory from the beginning.Chapter 6 discusses the First Seven Poets and the Second seven Poets'theory about poetry style which was used in their renaissance. Section I discusses two arguments about what is style, one between Li Mengyang and He Jingming, another between Xu Zhenqing. Li Mengyang argued with He Jingming about rule and style of poem. Li Mengyang believed the rule was methods which were used to link words and sentence, and was essential to genre of poem such as men's body which was born according to nature law. However, He Jingming believed rule was methods which were used create images. Li Mengyang advocated a style which is soft, elegant and implicit. But He Jingming thought Li Mengyang'style of poetry was conflict to his idea. These contradictions in their poem theory showed the great differences among the First seven Poets. Section II discusses that Xie Zhen and Wang Shizhen developed the First seven Poets'theory which was remedied with the history of poetry styles and author's talent and character. To some extent they resolved contradiction existed in literature retro movement.Chapter 7 discusses some style theories which were constructed by scholars and poets who advocated the First seven poets and the Second seven poets'theories. It mainly studied Hu Yinglin and Xu Xueyi's theory. They studied the history of the poetry genres and their styles, so their theories and style ideal are perfect and convincing. At same time, their studies and description about the pedigrees of poetry genres and style had great significance, according to which we can accurately recognize the literature and style history.
