As one of the three great masters in Vienna during the Classical period,Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has a wide range of creative fields,including opera,piano concerto,symphony,chamber music,Mass and so on.The string quartet is a genre that grew up in the period of classical music.It not only perfectly inherited the transition from Baroque's polyphony to Classic homophony,but also gradually became the indispensable genre in the field of classical music.“The Haydn Quartet” included six chamber music pieces which devoted to Haydn by Mozart and was the best of all Mozart's string quartets.While studying Haydn's tradition,he also demonstrated his own strong creativity.This paper takes "The Haydn Quartet" as the research object,summarizes the creative background of the "Haydn Quartet" by combing the situation Mozart's chamber music creation,the background of the classical string quartet growth and the music status of Classical period;analyzes the construction way of theme,the cyclic structure and form,the music texture,the harmony and so on of these six works;expounds the creativity of this genre and diversified style in “The Haydn Quartet”.The main body of the paper consists of three parts: The first chapter summarizes the causes of the creation of six "Haydn Quartets" by Mozart,the growth background of the string quartet genre and the music status during the Classical period.The second chapter mainly explores the individual creation of the "Haydn Quartet" in terms of string quartet genre through explaining the uniqueness of the theme presentation and the uniqueness of the music structure.The third chapter is to grasp the overall style of the "Haydn Quartet" and interpret the style mapped by the works themselves in order to understand the works more comprehensively.
