When a artist began to pick up a brush to paint,we will see him mix roundsome colour by it,and then coated the canvas. This screen will be left sometrails that in accordance with the principles of a certain combination or logicalrelationship. Finally, the screen will appear some shape or image, the wholeprocess he will have to repeat this action, then what determine the brush tomove its size, speed and what is the significance of this action. At the same time, the picture will change little by little, and what time the brush should holdup? So the blank canvas turns to a screen fill with images or shapes, the whilethese movements and actions have left traces and how bring different effects? Why do different people paint same images using a different brush styles andbrushwork, all this have what relation with painter's heart and mind? Haveartists' values and characters necessarily links with brushwork, which are thefocus of this paper. Therefore,in my paper first I described the course of oilpaintings'birth and the concept of strokes, and then gave a detailed analysis ofthe course of development of the painting in terms of iconograghy,1Harmonious rhythm-the brushwork of Renaissance painting, which whether ornot is groundbreaking in the use of brush and excavation, after all this is theearly development of painting.2 Along the walk-shaped-from Baroque toneo-classical and romantic,in this period,a new aesthetics of spiritual pursuitbe posed,The brushwork had a breakthrough than the use of in the Renaissance, awareness of brushwork was germinated with it:with turning of theobject, strokes also followed accordingly.3 development of characterImpressionist period, the Impressionist paintings of natural objects in order toreproduce the moment of light-color,which made every artist to tap new style ofmodeling elements in brushwork. So they were drawing attention to their ownproblems of painting that foretelled a coming of a new Art.4 free way---Expressionism to Abstract-expressionism,from the end cf 19th century, theWestern oil painting in the matter of brushwork occurred in significant change. The artists emphasized their individuality and personal value in society, emotional performance, the subconscious, and anti-narrative becamemainstream.Expressionism and Abstract-expressionism is the main styles. In the chapterâ…¡,focused on the functional significance of paintingstrokes:1 Function to express-appearance,performance of functionalcharacterization 2 Function in meaning-expression of significance andemotion, which is a touch of deep-level research, very few people talking about its functional significance as a form of oil painting.Brushwork existed inpaintings over centuries. The first function has been all the time, but theAnother, that because of the main body, human beings, and because thatdifferent artists to depict the same object useing different brushwork or thesame artist in different mood, different periods, they will produce differentstrokes and brushwork.Different strokes will also become a means to identifythe artist works, where the the initiative attachmented paintings was to enhancethe aesthetic function.I also learn from the style point of view to the logic ofrelations between the use of brushworks and styles, which is the innovation ofthis article. In the Chapterâ…¢.the inner spirit of the brushwok of oil painting is alsothe focus of this article, from 1 psychologism and traces of human-being to 2strokes (handwriting)and the subconscious, directional thinking about strokesand the character, painting experience and the relationship among that, theconscious or unconscious, traces of human-being---strokes are as a startingpoint of the traces of painting, then how much awareness there is,or isunconscious will lead to what kind of brushwork and main style.Strokes in aspecific scenario can really reflect a person's mentality or a culture, while as areliable basis.A painter's brushwork is his unique signature.I believebrushwork is not only in the sense of pianting,we can get more things from it.Ianalyzed the relationship between brushwork and the character and the fate.Ialso believe that the strokes is the most spiritual screen factors,at the same time, strokes is symbol to be a argumentation in form.As an appendix I talked about the development and changes ofcontemporary chinese oil paintings,I start with the centuries of Chinese oilpaintings and how they carried forward the tradition.Oil painting is a traditionalWestern art form,so as Chinese oil paintings either materials and language ofuseing will certainly understand the difference between painter in the West.TheChinese people have their unique Oriental Aesthetic Imagery and psychologicalexperience. As well as oriental savor the world of human and nature willre-interpretate this art.Chinese painters will give a new perspective to explainthe world images by their profound culture.Thenâ… will give a analysis ofChinese artists use different brushwork order form style.Sectionâ…¡discusses the aesthetic intention in Chinese oil painter WuGuanzhong,Su Tianci and other older generation of Chinese artists'feeling toChina. Also talked about the root of the problem-the current significance of stroke research,"root distinguish"and"root pursiting"is being initiated tostudy by my teacher,Mr.Yang Feiyun, and in the pure language of oil paintingthe brushwrk how to solve the existing problems should have a clear point.Ilearned from the art practice, and from the phenomenological point of view andimage analysis to study combing the development and changes in brushwork.Carry on it with the logical relationship between the spirit and he image Fromthe perspective of semiotic to analyze strokes in abstract painting and figurativepainting in the meaning of symbols. From the perspective of human personalitybehavior to explain the significance of painting, what is brushwork and what itfor.Through the brush changed the nature of color,so as to achieve theconversion from the material to the spirit. As Vernon Hyde Minor said:apicture on the tree is actually a series of signs and symbols in a plane. The onlyreasonable way to treat painting is to abstract and symbolic the perspective oflearning to think about it,to forget that the so-called tree.
