Because Liberalism has long history,the recognition about The Self-concept is systematic and abundant,then contemporary Communitarianism is proved by Liberalism in the debate,accordingly the recognition about the Self of Communitarianism is on the premise of the Self-concept of Liberalism. This thesis undertakes to elaborate on the sources about the Self-concept in Communitarianism and Liberalism by arranging the definition of Self in history and applying the principle of unity of logical and historical.then it analyzes rationally the form and dilemma of the Self-concept in Liberalism ,The Self-concept in Communitarianism is presented on the premise of abstract and atomic self in Liberalism. this thesis elaborates on the definition of Self in Communitarianism and different comprehension of communitarianism,then the excellent recognition about the Self-concept in Communitarianism emerges,that is Shared self-positioning which is interpreted in multi-dimensions,Finally this thesis postmortems the values in theory and practice.
