Now, China has entered the age of mass media, this age provides strong basis for TV to become a dominant media. Meanwhile, an important theoretic problem occurs, which is TV how to meet the requirements of the masses and be accepted by the masses as well as play a dominant communication role in the development of mass culture. The answer to the problem is just the central point of this thesis, which is to demonstrate the TV art in the age of mass media.This thesis widens the parochial understanding of TV which limits art within TV art programme or TV art works. This thesis defines TV art the basic and general attribute of TV. The thesis concludes, art is not the patent of pure art, but an open relation attribute, it occurs in the relations of producers and acceptance. No matter which changes, producer or acceptance or social condition, the art will be affected to change. Now, the social condition of mass life art makes art an important attribute of TV.The thesis adopts a comprehensive research method which integrates different subjects. On the basis of literary theory, the thesis focuses on analyzing and researching TV art in the field of TV transmission process and acceptance. The research involves art theory, communication, culture, sociology and other relevant subjects and theories.The thesis concludes that the TV art which is easily accepted by the masses will draw more attention and become a popular TV attribute for the masses, which includes the trope, imagination, sensibility and acceptance of TV programme. The direct result of mass acceptance is audience rating. TV art can not be separated from TV picture and the tendency of life art in the age of mass media. It is the development result of TV inherency audio and video attribute in the mass media age which makes people's life more artistic. Focusing TV art, the thesis explains the art basis of TV audience rating, describes and researches TV picture from the angel of TV art in the mass media age, researches the tendency of life art in the age. The tendency is an important age basis of TV art. Moreover, the thesis also explains the relationship between TV art and TV audio and video technology.There are five research points in the thesis. First, make clear the connotation of TV art, upgrade it to a general attribute of TV. Second, make greater effort on the contextual research to intensify TV art attribute, explore the limitation and composing of TV art attribute in the context on the basis of theory. Third, explore the age character and practice points of TV art. Fourth, by analyzing cases, to upgrade practice to theory. Fifth, realize systematization of TV theory research and set up a TV art system of mass culture.
