The developing of Cognitive science have broadened the study field of Linguistics. This dissertation, following a cognitive approach, explore verbs of contemporary Chinese on the combination of function and semantic in order to discover the verbs expressing and reflecting human cognitive process. We define the verbs mainly from the point of functions and call it as "cognitive verbs". Before any verb own semantic characteristics and by such a verb phrase that the semantic characteristics of the syntactic analysis. Secondly, from the perspective of construction grammar theory as a guide, and three types of research related to cognitive sentence.ChapterⅠIntroduction. At first we expounded theoretical background of the thesis: under the impetus of cognitive thought and cognitive science, cognitive linguistics with a high degree of generality and interpretation develops rapidly. Construction grammar is gradually on the rise and has been highly attached. This brings us again to examine the relationship of language and cognitive, to examine their own special meaning of these sentence patterns.. since verbs has always been the focus of the study of grammar, we decided to study the cognitive verbs and the relevant sentence patterns. Second, to expound the study of cognitive verbs and construction grammar, to outline the fruits and the inadequate of their research. The last is our research and innovation.ChapterⅡthe study of Cognitive verbs. Cognitive verbs ,what we called, has the following characteristics: can take clausal object, has [+cognitive] and [+reflect Horizon] semantic features, leads to the expression of ideas. We have divided verbs into three categories under the standard of meaning and function: cognitive verbs1 reflects the process to obtain information; Cognitive verbs2 reflects storage and processing stages; Cognitive Verbs3 reflects the stage of the process of information transmission .These three types of cognitive verbs respectively be called the type of obtaining information, storage and reasoning, transmission of information. Then discussed syntax semantic features of the three types of verbsChapterⅢthe internal classification of cognitive verbs. In order to have a deep and thorough understanding of cognitive verbs, we have a classification for each specific cognitive verbs under the standard of meaning and function. We selected this verbs reflecting its outstanding characteristics to make a comparative studies. This perspective can highlights the characteristics of cognitive verbs different from other verbs, and considering the feature that this verbs can be following with minor sentence object, we make comparative analysis by choose small sentence object. The process of comparative analysis highlight syntactic and semantic feature of cognitive verbs.ChapterⅣa semantic analysis of the resultative construction "V +ge (个) +mingbai(明白) The resultative construction "V +ge (个) +mingbai (明白) "has been in use inspoken Chinese since its emergence in the period of Song and Yuan dynasties. The articlemakes a semantic analysis of the structure in two respects: it first elucidates the fourdifferent semantic types of the V in "V +ge(个) +mingbai (明白) "and divide accordinglythe construction into two types with the same form yet different meanings. Second, itcompares the structure of "V +ge (个) + mingbai (明白)" with "V +de (得) + mingbai(明白) ", and concludes that the former possesses the features of telicity, resultativenessand futurenessChapterⅤan ananysis of focus assigning of "S + bushi (不是)+X+de (的) ". S refers to subject, X refers to predicative phrase and subject—object phrase. First, The chapter makes an introduce of focus theory. Second, we conclude the rules of focus assigning in the construction of "S + bushi (不是) +X+de (的) "based on the study mentioned above, we conclude focus features of negative events sentence and sentence pattern sense.ChapterⅤa study on active acquiring Sentence. There is a construction" VV+ kan (看) "in Chinese oral language. Zhu jing-song professor regarded that this construction indicate that acquiring some kind of understanding or recognition by verb reduplication. We agree with his points and on this basis make a further explanation: this construction indicates that actors through active process come to experience and judge in order to acquire cognition.
