Visual sensory verbs in modern Chinese vocabulary system are a subcategoryclassified according to their meaning features. It is the generalization of the visualbehavior. Therefore the study of visual sensory verbs not only helps us to grasp theusage of these verbs, also can help us reveal the visual basic principles, methods andrules in the process of cognition.This paper does a multi-angle research of the Modern Chinese visual behaviorverbs, sets up a visual sensory verbs network as the core of “Kan”. By the Comparisonof the members in the group on the semantic and syntactic to master the commonalitiesand differences.Through the "look" class visual sensory verbs in the two aspects of semantics andsyntax analysis. We found the visual perception of verbs in modern Chinese,"Kan" is aterm of the prototype. It is both the semantic core of visual sensory verbs and otheratypical members in classified as reference standard, the semantic characteristic of"Kan" is visual perception verbs semantic features of "maximum common divisor".Among the visual sensory verbs in modern Chinese, the semantics of "Kan" is thesmallest, but it has the most syntactic function. So, when the sensory verbs started toderivative or blur out some new syntactic function, always "Kan" is the first falsified,then generalized to other visual sensory verbs, finally reflect to the other sensory verbs.
