I mainly study philosophic thoughts of Wang Anshi and the New Meanings on Three Classics in my thesis, and make an inquiry into the relationship between them. The impress of the relationship between philosophic thoughts of Wang Anshi and the New Meanings on Three Classics is: Wang Anshi used the New Meanings on Three Classics to guide the reform, so the book seems to be suspicion of political propaganda materials, and its academic achievement can not be high. However, in my opinion, Wang Anshi's philosophy is a system with"a saint inside and a king outside", putting the virtues in a very important position without neglecting the pursuit of utilitarianism, which is the essential feature of Wang Anshi's philosophy system. Wang Anshi's philosophy is a system of thought which based on"Tao". Wang Anshi proposed the thinking"Fa Qiyi"and"whole Tao"."Fa Qiyi"is to follow the example of foresages'spirits. So form may be and must be different from foresages'spirits.Wang Anshi emphasized thoughts of"transformations"."Whole Tao"is quite different from Neo-Confucian's"Wuchang Tao". Wang Anshi's"whole Tao"thinking advocated the absorbing Buddhism and other thoughts openly. Wang Anshi started from the standard"only pursuit reasonable things"and"combine my heart", which freed him from the shackles of a number of laws. So Wang Anshi's Tao, not only include a number of moral and ethical contents, but also utilitarian elements. The highest expression of Wang Anshi's Tao on the body of the human is human nature. Correspond to Wang Anshi's Tao, Wang Anshi's theory of human nature has two sides, one is virtue and another intellectual. Virtue is the base of moral self-cultivation, and intellectual is the base of external utilitarian. So Wang Anshi's philosophy a system with"a saint inside and a king outside", which is quite different from Neo-Confucian's thoughts which only focusing on inside. Wang Anshi's philosophy with focus of inside cultivation and outside utilitarian is bound to show its"king form"on proper time. And his reform could be regarded as a practice of these thoughts. The New Meanings on Three Classics works a media linking these two. Therefore, Wang Anshi's philosophy is the"root", and the"root"is showed and practiced when he made the notes for The New Meanings on Three Classics. So the New Meanings on Three Classics mainly reflects Wang Anshi's philosophy.and also obtains important achievements in academic research. Of course, The New Meanings on Three Classics was published during the political reform; due to the impact of the political environment it gives serves to reform and there has some thoughts which is different from Wang Anshi's philosophy. It mainly indicates that the way of Zishuo's explaining interpreted classics, which causes disadvantages of giving a fartched interpretations.
