The landscape painting is the precious heritage of Chinese culture. In Ming dynasty, Dong Qichang and others claim the so-called "Nan-bei Zong" (Northern and Southern Schools) on the history of Chinese landscape painting. As for as this context, this thesis discusses the "Beizong" (Northern School) that be denounced by the Dong Qichangs, and re-checks up the invention and theory about Chinese landscape painting. Combining the author's technical or practical arts, and human geography. the thesis analyzes the language of painting and characteristic style, and the practical question how to find Chinese landscape painting something new in what is old.
