Gender Writing Of Life Experience Of Female In Chinese Literature In The 20th Century

A common trait shared by all excellent writers is their fondness for expressing life experience, which is the sustained driver and unexhausted source for a writer. Authoresses in 20th century in China paid particular attention to their life experience as a result of a will to pour out their feelings. Determined by nature, women are charged with the mission of multiplying human beings inherently. A long lasting female mentality, which developed by this mission, gives authoresses an inherent ability to understand and care life sensitively.Certainly, women's life experience is the source of their thinking and understanding of life, and only in this way, can women truly convey their understanding of life, of themselves and of the existence of world as well. As Liu Siqian pointed out in early 90s in 20th century, study of feminine literature is first and foremost reading their flesh-and-blood experience carefully, not seeking so-called female gender posture or prior essence, nor complaining the unfair history for them, nor replacing male priority with female priority or replacing men's rights with women's rights, nor ornamenting the male-based traditional literature with a series of authoresses and their works. The focus to study feminine literature should be put on the text and the authoresses themselves. One who studies feminine literature should rediscover the misinterpreted feminine literary works and their inventor, and discover their life experience and the truth of their life existence which has been oppressed, been hidden, and been distorted by ideology from their texts.We can say that the life experience in Chinese feminine literature in 20th century was a copula, through which we can penetrate into inner core of mental culture in the modernization of Chinese feminine literature. As a revival of explicating the essence of life, feminine life experience, which is always beyond the traditional literature, is actually a "querying cultural behavior" which rejects the inherent foundation of historical existence, and a female cultural context as well.The central theme of this paper was to explicate the relationship between life experience and gender writing in Chinese feminine literature in 20th century. Writing has been a way to walk into "inside self world" for women since 20th century. They pondered over the ethical sense of women existence by writing down their life experience. They insisted on the ethical standpoint of freeing self, turned into self-existence, and found a way to self identity and world understanding in writing. Taking restricted narrative texts of representative authoress in 20th century as analysis samples, this paper tried to leave behind two poles of gender theory without evading gender differences, went back to the experience, and to the individual, traced Chinese women in 20th century——a group of women splitting their past, present and future deeply, and directly to confront their experience——their happiness, sorrow and depression. It's possible that "they" were just "her" multiple splitting, or "her" was like to be "their" entirely gathering.This paper tried to present the endeavor made by Chinese female writers. It is an endeavor to illustrate the meaning of life in a language belongs to themselves. The keyword of this paper is feminine life experience, which means revealing the other world sheltered by male prejudice for a long time primitively, means going back to female themselves and expressing their thinking on humanity based on their unique life experience, means showing their specific status both of their body and physiology, and their inner experience as well, in gender-based words of women, which more than illuminating their works to manifest a political inclination or a social criticism by means of feminism theory.This paper including six parts, which make a preliminary study on female writers'gender writing of the 20th century's Chinese literature.Chapter One mainly discussed the relationship between the female's life experience and female writer's personality construction.T There is a close contact between the life experiences in female writer's gender writing and female main personality constuction,or, the value and significance of women's life experience depends on the female personality construction. the gender awareness of Enlightenment women's groups lies in their deep understanding of the long cultural tradition, which female objectification's male-centered culture, thus forming the world's perspective on women's self-ability which to explore the sturdiness of women'mind, so that make the reflection of the women's personality dignity (what means the construction of healthy, independent and free)as a possibility. Not only the breaking of male-centered discourse barriers, but also the negative factors'breaking of the spirit structure for the women themselves, constructed the female writer's subjective consciousness of the gender writing. Since the broken self-sustaining of writing reality, upgrade the life experience and main personality building of female writers to a new historical stage.The second chapter deals with women's life experiences and the transformation of women's writing. The characteristics of the times, cultural heritage, as well as the modernization of China's social transformation of the knowledge given to Chinese women's historical role and mission, all made the twentieth century Chinese women writers in their life experience writing emerged relatively large similarity,, regardless of their subject matter, content, tone, and contains the emotional tendencies. Because of they are based on their own life experiences, writing the female personality works which construct and converse the dignified and confusion.The third chapter is the central part of this paper, which is toward the text itself, to explore the theme patterns of women's life experience. This chapter is divided into four parts,1, Growth Experience(Real apprehension/mirror each other companions and the Sisterhood/hidden desire of emotions) 2, Sex Experience(the nature of the sex itself-he real needs/lienation-no love in the sex)3,Love Experience(Incomplete and the desperation of love/right "feeling" paranoid and refused to yield to the decisive)4, Birth experience(To create the joy of life/painful/heavy maternal)Chapter 4 aims to explore the relation between feminine life experience and life ethics. The interaction between feminine life experience and life ethics may be an important theoretical support to gender writing of feminine life experience. Through feminine life experience, female writers think about the ethical significance of feminine existing noumenon under ethic background of traditional culture and turn inward self-existence from insisting the position of the self liberal ethics. This is the important meaning for female writing.What discussed in Chapter 5 is the alienation of female life experience. Began with self-identity, women explored themselves especially their mental handicap deeper and deeper, which given birth to a heavy anxiety sourced from the inner centre of women directly. Stimulated by outer factors, this anxiety, which can hardly got rid of, transformed into variety ways of alienation such as homoerotism, abuse addiction, Electra complex and so on. This paper concludes with a discussion of the trend of female life experience and China's contemporary feminine literature. To sum up, self-exploration and writing about "life experience" run through the whole writing history of Chinese authoress. If it were an indistinct spontaneous implicit period of expression of female life experience in the first thirty years after new literature promoted by May 4th movement, then it was her conscious direct and strong theory-based period in late 80s and early 90s. Feminine life experience has drawn, as it were, more and more attention. It was a prominent trend of Chinese feminine literature in 20th century which tended to revival the writing of peoples'feelings rationally. It attempted to eliminate all the misdirection of words and went back to the original position of an object which had not been aliened.
