Xiao Hong and Chang Ailing both were the outstanding writers in Chinese modern literature, and they observed the humanity tragedies in the world from their own tragic lives to indite the tragedies of lives leaving lots of disputable, special and excellent works to people. There have been many researchers who studied and discussed them from different aspects, while I suggest that the writer's experiences and work background has many connections with the works' thought and his/her writing career development, and Xiao Hong and Chang Ailing wrote in totally different ways and their works were in totally different styles although they had similar life experiences. So this paper begins with the comparison between their life experiences to discuss how the experiences' affected on their writing career.Xiao Hong and Chang Ailing were both born in the rich families, but they were always snubbed by their parents and lacked of love and warmness. However it should not be negative that their families provided good situations for them to get high literature qualities. In childhood, they were both ever locked in, finally escaped from their families reined by the fatherhood and experienced tragic love when they were young. All of the life experiences affected on every aspects of their writing including their discernment on humanity, their yearning for the mother land, their concerning on women, their choices on writing objects, and even the writing skills' usage.
