Four behavioral studies that use IOR and spatial Stroop paradigm were reported in this thesis. By manipulating the Stroop conflict at cued versus uncued location, we aimed to investigate how IOR could modulate higher cognitive processing and the function mechanism between orietation network and excutive network. To achieve this goal, two methodological concern are considered especially during the design of the studies in this thesis. First, stimuli were presented either in up or below panel of the visual field to avoid the interference on the measurement of Stoop effect by Simon effect; Second, since spatial Stroop effect could occur either during semantic or response encoding phase, the experiment was manipulated to separated the spatial and semantic components of Stroop effects. Hence the mechanism why on cued location the spatial Stroop effect is reduced could be explored. Specially, two series of studies were included in this thesis:The first study was designed mainly to investigate whether and how IOR will affect spatial Stroop effects. It includes three experiments. 1 the vision of stimulation in horizontal direction, and the optimization by stimulating as clues to appear between variables, the results showed that when there is only in the condition of the clues, we will find that returns to restrain IOR of space can affect Stroop, In order to avoid experiments 2 Simon effect on the space effect of interference, stimulate Stroop presentation by vertical, horizontal instead, with the target of the clues to stimulate appeared in position, in the position, clues to reduce the amount of space Stroop, in addition, also was to find clues to the position of stimulation reaction time to slow in the position of the clue of reaction time, Three experiments were the machining process, spatial attention from easy to suppress the machining process, the position and the clues to the position of clues Stroop effect of changes in space.To study the main purpose is to understand how the position of clues Stroop space reduction mechanism. Experimental results show that the more or inhibit Stroop space is the reaction process, and the results and machining characteristic of different color Stroop, they are more involved in semantic conflicts of inhibiting tags.These results show: inhibition of return affects spatial Stroop, the amount of spatial Stroop effect will reduce in cued location, and this occurred due to the reduce returns to inhibitory tagging in inhibition of return, tags that inhibit the space from its related Stroop stimulation and activation of reaction, and the spatial attention processing, inhibit tags are more likely to suppress the level of response in the space, and machining process, inhibit label attention are more likely to suppress the semantic level.
