The paper establishes the concept of"subjectivity in news narration", and carries out research on subjectivity in news narration from the aspects of lexicon, syntax and discourse. On the basis of the above analysis, the paper summarizes the feature of"low subjectivity"of news narration relative to novel narration, and analyzes the influence of subjectivity in news narration on formal and standard language style of news narrative.Introduction introduces the origin of selecting the topic, the present research results, value of the paper, language material source, as well as research thoughts methodology.Chapter 1 defines the concept of subjectivity in news narration, elaborates on the dialectical relationship between subjectivity and authenticity in news narration, and investigates the factors which restrict subjectivity in news narration from three aspects: requirement to"return to the truth", social context, and language style of the narrator. The relationship between subjectivity in news narration and three elements:narration, discourse and story is well expounded.Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 mainly focus on subjectivity in news narration from lexical perspective. Chapter 2 starts from the usage of adjectives, and points out that the range and frequency of adjective usage in news narration are respectively smaller and lower than those of adjective usage in novel narration, using less state adjectives with high subjectivity; less adjectives which describe appearance features of people; more adjectives with moderate or low subjectivity; more adjectives which describe governmental acts, and reflect public order and social ethics; more positive adjectives.Chapter 3 analyzes subjectivity in news narration from the aspect of usage of modal words, and points out modal words which express obligations have higher frequency in news narration than in novel narration, while modal words which express willingness, cognition and evaluation have lower frequency than those in novel narration. Generally, news narrator, on behalf of the government spokesman, requires the recipients to implement certain act to contribute to the formation of social norm.Chapter 4 analyzes subjectivity in news narration from the aspect of usage of demonstrative words, and points out that person, time and space demonstrative words in news narration constitute an here-now-I system of subjective orientation, which implies narrative mode of "I'm watching-I'm listening-I'm speaking". The narrator puts himself into news events by means of demonstrative words and realizes self-expression while conveying information.Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 conduct research on subjectivity from the syntactic aspect. Chapter 5 focuses on the arrangement of word order, and points out that word order in news narration reflects self-centered value judgment of the narrator about matters. It is manifested in the choice of the subject and sequence of coordinate structure, which highlight "our" things and the things "I" regard as important.Chapter 6 explores subjectivity in news narration in the light of choice of sentence pattern, and points out that narrative sentences and descriptive sentences dominate in news narration. The two patterns of sentences do not declare the movement and state of things in fully objective manner; however, they indicate the narrator's standpoint, attitude and emotion by focusing on specific event participants and specific behavior. Commentary sentences in news narration are important symbols of the subject directly involving in the matters, more commonly used patterns being"A indicates/ means B", which establishes relationship between two propositions by means of non-action verbs, such as"indicate"or"mean"and integrates the narrator's viewpoint into the elaboration of the significance of the events. Sentence patterns widely used in news narration like"A represents, B","A emphasizes, B", or"A hopes, B"also belong to commentaries.Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 conduct research on subjectivity in news narration from the discourse aspect. Chapter 7 focuses on "core-subordination" structure of news discourse to study subjectivity in news narration. News narration is composed of two components:core event and subordinate event. Each component and component materials abide by the principles of "preposition of important component" and"repetition of important component", which imply the value judgment of the narrator.Chapter 8 studies subjectivity in news narration from the view of tense and aspect. It points out that aspect particles in news narration, such as "-zhe(着)","-le (了)" and "-guo(过)", can build relationship of each sub-event among series of events, except indicating the process of action and the change of the state.Chapter 9 summarizes the feature of "low subjectivity" in news narration, and points out that it is caused by the limited involvement of the subject, which is restricted by"objectivity". Subjective degree of each subjective mode of expression is defined based on double standards:"language"and"event". In the end, the paper, from the aspects of lexicon, syntax and discourse, analyzes the important influence of subjectivity on concise, lucid, standard and formal language style in news narration...
