Astudy On Yang Shen—focus On Literature

As a very important Sichuan scholar in Ming Dynasty, Yang Shen has profound academic thought and many works. He has great impact on the literary style and academic fashion of Ming and Qing Dynasties. This dissertation, based on previous studies, discusses the literary thought and works of Yang shen in terms of origin, body, affect more systematically and comprehensively. Yang Shen's literary activities will be placed in the cultural context to explore its features and its influence on the literary style of Ming and Qing. Through the analysis of the impact of his literary activities on Ba Shu Literature of Ming, it not only contributes to the study of Ba shu literature, but also highlights the unique geographical and cultural identity in Yang Shen's works. Details are as follows.Chapter one deals with the cultural origin of Yang Shen's literary creation. It studies the cultural origin of Yang Shen's literary creation from the three levels: philosophy, the impact of Shu academy and family tradition. It analyzes Yang Shen's criticism of the literary style of Song and Ming, his discussion of Shu culture of Song and Yang and Yang Shen's family tradition.Chapter two is about the literary thought of Yang Shen. Because the academic research on Yang Shen's poetics is more mature, it tries to make a review of Yang Shen's literary thought and analyses Yang Shen's specific ideas of literature and the meaning of his essay Yiyutuzan in genre.Chapter three involves Yang Shen's literary style. This chapter makes a close reading about Yang Shen's works, combines Yang Shen's poetic ideas with his living social and cultural background, analyses his poetic style and examines the "putting music into poem".Chapter four discusses the criticism of Yang Shen in Ming and Qing. It studies the impact of Yang Shen on the academic atmosphere and the style of writing of Ming and Qing from three levels. Si Ku Quan Shu's criticism of the academic method and the style of writing by Yang Shen can be regarded as representative of the traditional thoughts. It belongs to a strict Confucian supremacy and involves the well-known scholars of Ming and Qing, who selected and criticized Yang Shen's poetry. This is the representative of the mainstream of the literary reception. Moreover, Li Diaoyuan's editorial and commentary of Yang Shen's works are an acceptance of Ba Shu scholarship. It is an analysis of Yang Shen's reception in Ming and Qing from the perspective of local culture.The addendum examines the relation between Yang Shen and Ba Shu Literature in Ming Dynasty. It is related to Yang Shen's making friendship, his interaction with Ba Shu in his different stages of life and his impact on Ba Shu Literature in Ming dynasty.
