Yang Xiong Literature Thought

This thesis is mainly on Yang Xiong's literary thoughts.Firstly, after checking the ideological trend of Han Dynasty and Yang Xiong's lifelong conduct, this thesis thinks that Yang Xiong is a Confucian scholar. To govern and benefit the people is the essence of his thoughts. Although he maintains the doctrine of "back to the ancients ", he advocates acting according to circumstances.Secondly, after studying of the characteristics of Yang Xiong's literary works and criticism, this thesis thinks that the essence of his literary thoughts is that he attaches great importance to flowery language and he advocates literary works' political function. Yang Xiong's literary thoughts have great influence on Chinese classical literary thoughts.
