Holocaust denial is the distortion of the massacre of Jews committed by Hitler's Nazi Germany in 20 century. It is a distortion not only for Jewish history, but also for the entire human civilization and dignity, thus a serious research and study would be of great significant. In contrast to the majority works which devoted its attentions to the Holocaust denial phenomenon itself, this dissertation make its way from the Jewish point of view, that is, to see how the Jews to fight against Holocaust denial, what are their reactions.The whole dissertation consists of preface, five chapters and the conclusion.The Preface explains some of the keys concept such as "Holocaust", "Holocaust denial", gives the reasons for choosing this topic. The academic review, the train of thoughts and expected goals to write this dissertaion are also seen in this part.Chapterâ… deals with the arising and spreading of the Holocaust denial. It traces the historical evolvement of the Holocaust denial from the ending of the World Warâ…¡to present; analyzes the possible reasons for its rapid development, such as revisionism, deconstructionism, relativism, free speech, anti-Semitism, using hi-tech means to promote its spreading and covers the denials with a academic cloak, etc.Chapterâ…¡deals with the academic way Jewish people taken to fighting against Holocaust denial. The first part of this chapter demonstrates the evidences, the stages and the contents for Holocaust academic research, to show a clear picture of what scholars have done with Holocaust study; the second part analysis scholars specific refuting and criticism to deniers'such arguments as the Nazis had no genocide policy to European Jews, no gas chamber existed in the concentration camps, Jewish victims were far more less than 6 million, no evidences were genuine, and forth.Chapter III deals with the legal ways combating with the denial. As a resounding issue, Deborah Lipstadt and David Irving case is present in this chapter without any question, and its background, judicial process, influences and the reasons of win and lose for each sides are all visible. Meanwhile, this chapter also introduces the efforts taken by international society to fighting the denial, that are, the resolutions, acts, declarations, legislations made by UN, international organizations and some countries.Chapter IV deals with the educational way Jewish people have to confront against Holocaust denial. Beginning with the introducing of school education in Israel and other regions, this chapter also gives other various ways of fighting, which including the establishment of Holocaust memorial day and museum, the punishing of the Nazis criminals and rewarding of the righteous. Holocaust education also contains the literary and artistic creation, the found of Holocaust education fund and organization.Chapter V deals with some reflections on Holocaust denial. This chapter explains some of the reasons why Holocaust deniers denying the Holocaust, points out that Holocaust denial is a new kind of anti-Semitism, refers to some right attitudes when dispose of Holocaust denial. By showing the lessons draw from the Jewish people, there comes the end of the chapter.The conclusion indicates that, although not made much achievements in the historical field, Holocaust denial causes quite a stir in international society and promotes the social anti-Semitism, therefore, fighting with the deniers has a long way to go. Even though failed to eradicate the denial practices, Jewish people's attempts, to some extent, have prevented its infestation, and are worthy of being learned.
