The core values of socialism with Chinese characteristics are a new concept. This dissertation attempts to answer the question"What are the core values of socialism?"especially"what are the core values of socialism with Chinese characteristics?"then summarize the development of the concept, and study the connotation and construction of those core values. The purpose is to deepen our understanding of socialism with Chinese characteristics, enrich the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and advance the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in China. Therefore, this research is of great significance, both in theory and reality.This dissertation has six parts: the Introduction and five chapters. The Introduction provides brief details about the background and current efforts to study the topic. Given the present situation in the construction of those core values in China, we present the pattern and mechanism of the construction of the core values, to deepen people's identification of the values, both emotionally and ideologically, and to provide vigorous motivation for the great cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.
