Marx's philosophy of education is the achievement of researching the education with basic principles of historical materialism and criticizing bourgeois and petty-bourgeois theory of education by Marx, which answered the basic problem of Education Philosophy with reason. So it brought about a great revolutionary change in the history of Education Philosophy and is still of practical significance.The first chapter discussed the creation of Marx's philosophy of education and the revolutionary change. First, it revealed people's understanding on the the nature and content of education through discussing the semantic evolution of "education", then studied the formation and development of education and the emerging of the philosophy of education, which constituted the ideological background of Marx's philosophy of education. Second, it discussed the historical context of Marx's philosophy of education with the 19th century education system and education practice in major European countries and utopian socialists' critique of capitalist education. Finally, it discussed the basic views of Marx's philosophy of education and the revolutionary change in the history of Education Philosophy it took with the formation process of Marx's historical materialism.The second chapter expounded the critical dimension of Marx's philosophy of education. It discussed principles of human reality and subjectivity, which was the critical principles based on historical materialism, and expounded Mars' critique on the bourgeois and petty-bourgeois education ideology and current bourgeois situation of education. So Marx revealed the essence of education with reasonThe third chapter demonstrated the value dimension of Marx's philosophy of education. On the one hand, Marx revealed the highest value purpose of education is the all-round development of human, which transcended the traditional understanding on the relationship between education and the all-round development. He also set out a realistic way for the all-round development. On the other hand, Marx took the socialization of person as the direct value goal of education, which answered the historical mystery of the relationship between individual and society, and discussed the positive role of education for the socialization of human.The forth chapter discussed the contemporary meaning of Marx's philosophy of education with the educational reform in China. Firstly, it outlined the historical background and practical challenges confronted by the educational reform in China. Secondly, it clarified the core idea provided by Marx's philosophy of education, that is the people-oriented idea. Lastly, it explained clearly Marx's thinking on educational equity and its significance with phenomenon of educational inequity in contemporary education reform in China.
