There has been always ethnic Chinese problem in Southeast Asia attcr the second world war, but its degree has been different. The essence of ethnic Chinese problem is race relations in Southeast Asia after the second world war. The main local race who became the master of?the country and ruling class carry out the policy of discrimination against ethnic Chinese ,who suffer various unfair treatment. According to the view of?Maxist class analysis, the essence of race relations is class relation. But it is very difficult that the ethnic Chinese problem in Southeast Asia is explained only by the view of class analysis. The paper tries to jump out of the old model and use a new way to analyze the relations between ethnic Chinese and local race in Southeast Asia. Namely, studies the relations afresh ~y view of acculturation. The contradiction between ethnic Chinese and local race has many forms, l抩r example, the contradiction between employers and employees; the contradiction between the rich and the poor; the contradiction between towns and ruralareas ; and the contradiction between industry, commerce and agriculture; etc.. Sometimes the cultural difference could aggravate the contradiction, especially, when the identity of races divergence. Vie may to find a new breach to think and analyze the contradiction by the view of acculturation.
