The issue of the ruling foundation of the CPC is a crucial and practical one relating to the future and destiny of the Party, which is acknowledged by all. But as far as the present condition is concerned, people抯 cognition is not yet penetrating and explicit enough to such issues as what is the ruling foundation, and how to consolidate it. Moreover, people don抰 either reach an agreement on many concrete problems. Therefore it is urgently necessary to make a thorough research to the issue of the ruling foundation of the CPC, and to make a specific answer to some concrete problems. Hence the thesis is born. According to the logical clue of theoretical analysis, historical investigation, practical contradictory analysis, and the practical measures, this thesis deals with the issue of the ruling foundation of the Party in Four Chapters Chapter One provides the theoretical analysis to the ruling foundation of the Party. Guided by the materialism of Marxism, from the aspects of essence and historical law, this chapter displays a thorough analysis to the basic theoretical problems of the ruling foundation of our Party. Firstly, the author makes a clear definition of the ruling foundation of our party. The ruling foundation of the CPC is the basic conditions on which the Party holds the state power. Secondly, the author explores the essential connotation of the ruling foundation of our Party. Whether or not can the Party successfully holds the state power depends basically on whether or not can it present and realize the basic profits of the most majority of the Chinese people, and whether or not it can win the trust and support of the most majority. Finally, the author analyses the constitutions of the ruling foundation of the Party emphatically. From the aspect of the promotion of the social development of China and the realization of the basic benefits of the most majority, the ruling foundation includes that of the production mode, the ideology and the political superstructure. From the aspect of the Party抯 corporation with and reliance on various social powers, and the trust and support of the most majority, it includes the foundations of mass, class and the Party itself. With the different classification but the same The studying of the ruling foundation of the CPC essence, the said two aspects are infiltrate into each other and unify with each other, and form the ruling foundation together. Chapter Two deals with historical investigation of the consolidation of the ruling foundation.
