The wave of Globalization develops rapidly. It has become the trend in the post-Cold War era. The traditional security thought could not explain and meet the demand of national security, the new security thought was emerged. Since Mexico's inception of NAFTA firstly in the Latin American country, beyond the realistic significance of this theme for students of Mexico, the topic is important on a theoretical plane. My essay aims at re-orienting the era background, main content and theory foundation of Mexican security strategy, drawing some experience and lessons from Mexico, providing some advice for security strategy of our country. The field of Mexican security can be treated in three phases. The first is the period from the Mexican Revolution to the 40th era in 20 century, during such periods of time, Mexican national security was defined in relation to the identification of the U.S. as the principal external threat to Mexico, I called this period as "external threat argument". The second phase-during the Cold War, the most national security concern is placed as internal order, which is called "internal developing argument". Further, it should be underscored that revolutionary nationalism was the conceptual basis for Mexican security strategy during the two periods noted above, thought it was manifested differently in each. The post-Cold War era introduced the third conceptual epoch of Mexican security. After the Cold War ended, the Salinas government of Mexico adjusted its national security to meet the wave of globalization. The new strategy, based upon Salinas' neo-nationalism, was to make Mexico ally itself with the U.S. in the light of NAFTA. This new strategy is the changed version of the country's traditional "revolutionary nationalism" implemented in the Cold War ear, when the U.S. was taken as Mexico' major threat. The new strategy covers economic security, national security, social security, and regional interests security. Unlike the traditional strategy, the new one goes beyond military security and political issues. The change of Mexican new security strategy was from traditional security strategy of "idealism" and "revolutionary nationalism" to no-traditional security strategy of "realism" and neo-nationalism in the post-Cold War.After the peso crisis of 1994 the Zedillo administration has attached greater importance to the state in realizing national security and promoting social justice. In the area of external relations, it has strengthened its relations with the U.S. and also seeks better ties with E.U. and other Latin American countries. The author discusses and analyses Mexico' re-orientation of the security strategies in the age of Globalization, classifies the relationship between the new economic policy and the new security. I think that the new security strategy brings both challenges and opportunities. Mexico is the most active participants in globalization and has reaped many benefits. At the same time, however, the economic and social development of Mexico is constrained by the side effects of globalization. Not only to opening to the outside world but also to safeguarding national composite security was the practical problem for Mexico, it also was the requirement and the essential guarantee of LDCS' Modernization. The LDCs leaders should give consideration to two or more things national benefits and security. In conclusion, first, the author thinks re-orientation of the LDCs security strategies in the age of Globalization and puts forward how should we carry on security strategy according our ownspecific situation. Second, through analyzing and summarizing the case of Mexico' re-orientation of the security strategies in the age of Globalization, I put forward that LDCs should pay attention to how to choose a suitable security road between government and market. On the experience of Mexico, I think that LDCs should pay attention to learn security strategy regularity when it takes part in Globalization. Finally, I refute the wrong view that "the end of nation-state or sov...
