Having studied on socialized progress of Zhuang Nationality children in Leye county, Baise Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since the reform and opening by way of quality research, we find that those children have adapted themselves to the social changes, gradually developing and updating their views on birth, wealth, marriage, economy and nation; that some factors such as better education, economic growth, infrastructure improvement promote the children's development; that bi-language teaching helps them get knowledge based on Chinese, but local Zhuang dialect rather than standard pronunciation of Putonghua is more welcome by the people at large.Another finding, however, is that there is still some problems during their socialized development. Firstly, some conventional ideas ?son superiority over daughter, superstitions, disbelief of science, no legal sense, indifference to politics, unawareness of environment protection, strong sense of seniors and juniors, too much formality, face-saving, going in for showing off, being easy to be content, conservativeness, lack of economic sense, narrow-minded nationalism ?still hold fast. Moreover, some people have some ideas of unhealthy marriage. All the above are awaiting to be improved. Secondly, basic education is inadequate. So far, compulsory schooling is only for pupils. The number of school-aged children dropouts is quite large. There are other problems of too old teaching facilities, small quantity of books in libraries and low-quality teachers, frequent transferring of teaching staff. Also, school layouts need improving. General secondary schools, especially senior high schools are too small in their scale. Vacation schools should improve their teaching force, teaching facilities, teaching orientation and the like. Little progress has been made in national education and farming skills training. Thirdly, Leye's economic growth is too slow, with its traditional agriculture, and this is the main thing that holds back the local children's socialization. Fourthly, infrastructure needs to be strengthened.With the development of modern society, the children, to develop themselves, need to improve their science awareness, and adapt themselves to the adjustment of industrial structure and the requirement of more science and technology in agriculture; make themselves more powerful by learning more knowledge to meet the needs oftransferring labor force; strengthen awareness of economy and management to meet the needs of social economic development; adapt to town development by improving themselves. To make the above objectives come true, first of all, we should develop national culture according to the local context, and strengthen national sense by learning mother tongue and Chinese to become a person of multi-language. Then we should be open-minded, ready to accept any advanced culture of other countries. Moreover, we should further our education, establishing lifetime educating system. Different measures should be taken in different stages: consolidation and improvement in primary schools, compulsory education in junior middle schools. We should broaden scale of running schools, rearrange school layouts reasonably, use both Putonghua and Leye dialect to teach based on "16 words" policy, improve teachers' quality and further skills training by making good use of extra labor power. Through the measures mentioned above, Zhuang nationality children in Leye county will show other people a new look which is completely different from what they used to be.
