In Western Countries, particularly in United States, nonprofit corporation, as one of organizational forms, is available for people to organize productive enterprise and pursuit their objects. Nonprofit corporations become a major economic force. In contrast, nonprofit sector is a new developing sector in China. Since 1998, the NGOs and non-state nonprofit units are constructed as the counterpart of nonprofits of United States. However, nonprofits are in close relationship with private economic, It would be interesting to observe how nonprofit develop in China where public sector dominates the economic system and what different characteristics nonprofit in china have. Although the NGOs in China are not government agency, they are cultivated by government and become "semiofficial organization". However, the non-state nonprofit units could be incorporated by private sector. The private nonprofit organizations in this book refer to the non-state nonprofit units. This book examines the development of non-state nonprofit organizations in China, makes the comparative research between nonprofit organizations in China and nonprofit corporations in United States to describe the tension between the nonprofit sector and work unite institution. Three sections follow in this book which include Introduction, Main section and Conclusion. Main section of this book have six chapters. Chapter 1 traces the grow-up of the non-state nonprofit units from the work unit institution. Chapter 2 addresses the organization form of nonprofit organization. Chapter 3 explores the nature of nonprofit organization. Chapter 4 examines the policy consideration under the nonprofit organization law. Chapter 5 addresses the establishment of nonprofit organization. Chapter 6 is to consider the classification of nonprofit corporations under the Public-Private Dichotomy.
