This study is derived from reflection of the traditional motivation researches. There are three approaches focusing on motivation: economics, psychology and management. Though many literatures about motivation have appeared, there are five big shortcomings in past researches: (1) each approach goes its own way lacking integration one another; (2) past researches pay little attention on interaction between motivation subject and motivation object; (3) past researches neglect a very important area, that is self-motivation; (4) there is no analysis framework to integrate all kinds of drives; (5) past research methods are atomic, and lack investigating motivation from holistic and dynamic perspective. So the purpose of this study is to solve these five problems utilizing the perspective in RENWEI science and set a new motivation model based on Chinese traditional culture. This study will provide a useful general analysis framework for motivation researchers and practitioner, improve orient management research, and advance a new pattern of motivation for enterprises.RENWEI motivation is essentially an interaction process between motivation subject and object. In some space and time background, motivation subject will use some methods to arouse motivation object's motive and induce object to go ahead for a goal. At the same time, motivation object will actively induce with some methods subject to perform what object wants. The philosophy of this new motivation theory is RENWEI view, which is essentially humanism with a communitarianist characteristic. Its' arguments include: collective priority; man as a subject; reverence for human value; man as an agent; hierarchy of human needs. RENWEI motivation theory claims that the human nature is action's subject, and emphasizes human's self-motivation and creativity. This is very different from rational man and psychological man.Basing on the human nature supposition, RENWEI motivation system includes three sub-systems. The first sub-system is self-motivation system, which is the core of all the motivation system. The second sub-system is others-driven motivation system. An effective others-driven motivation system should be able to induce individual's self-motivation system. The third sub-system is mutual-driven motivation system that means the participators motivate each other. The three sub-systems interrelate each other, and constitute the whole motivation system. Expectation is the basic operation mechanism of the whole RENWEI motivation system. Human's behavior is aroused via expectation that is a cognitive process. In self-motivation system, the expectation of results is the main motivator. Similarly, the key step of others-driven motivation system is managing object's expectation. The core step of mutual-driven motivation system is managing the mutual expectation between subject and object.Though expectation is the basic operation mechanism, we can't deny the important role which the human needs play. Basing on the analysis framework developed by Cardona et.al. (Cardona, Lawrence and Espejo, 2003), we identify four types of basic needs: intrinsic needs, extrinsic needs, relatedness needs and moral needs. The empirical investigation also supports these four types of behavior motives. These four types of motives and their interaction constitute individual's behavior function. Everybody's behavior function is very different. So if organization can identify individual's profile of motivator function, it will be very effective for organization to motivate organization members.RENWEI motivation system does not exist solely. Only if it matches with other systems, it can make its effectiveness. The effectiveness of RENWEI motivation system depends on three matches: the match between RENWEI motivation system and external-organization systems; the match between RENWEI motivation system and internal-organization systems; and the match between sub-systems of RENWEI motivation system.Knowledge management has been the focus of researchers. The creati...
