The Study On Competitive Power Of China's Rape Industry

By using the combination of standard and substantial analysts,quality and quantity analysis, static and dynamic analysis, abstract and concrete analysis, technological and economic analysis, comparative and comprehensive analysis, mathematical and statistical analysis, this paper analyses the competitive power and affecting factors of China's rape industry and discusses the influences and countermeasures of rape industry after China's entering WTO.Compared with the rape in Canada, the competitive power of China's rape is lower in coefficient quality, benefits and productivity and higher in cost, and the price is also short of superiority, which indicates that the international competitive power of China's rape is really weak. However, these disadvantageous conditions are gradually improving. Compared with the competitive agricultural products, such as wheat and other oil crops. China's rape has the following advantages: rapid development, lower cosi. good benefits. lower opportunity cost, great ability in resisting import risk and relatively competitive superiority, etc.The analysis on affecting the international competitive power of China's rape shows that the main reasons resulted in large import of China's rape seed are that China is short of edible oil and protein cake and it has the surplus of processing power of rape seed. On the other hand, the overseas rape seed with lower price and higher containing oil is also one of the reasons for large import of rape seed. Interrelated analysis indicates that DRCC value of China's rape is both affected by rape's productive cost and international market price. Compared with rape in Canada, the high productive cost of China's rape is mainly attributed to higher labor cost and the productivity of China's rape is not less than 8 percent of that in Canada because of small productive scale and short of mechanization of agriculture.Owing to the particularity of rape itself, China's rape industry has some strong points. First, it has good climate resources, advanced and distinctive strain resources. Second, it has the abundant land resources, adequate and cheap labor force resources. Third, it has a large market demand both from home and abroad and it also has strong time and space superiority. Through many years' hard work and great effort by rape breeders, the rape strains bred in China has served in a dual capacity of high yields and high quality, what's more, the index of China's rape strain quality has met the international standard in an all-round way.Entering WTO has both the directly favorable and indirectly unfavorable influences for China's rape industry in general. As far as China's rape industry is concerned, in spite of some " resistant power", China's rape seed will be negatively affected by the large import of soybeans and vegetable oil after China's entering WTO. Because China has a surplus of oil processing production, the internal oil processing industry will be seriously influenced and rape production will also be indirectly influenced by a large import of vegetable oil after China's access to WTO. On the other hand, transgenetic technology will have a great impact on the development of China's rape industry. Security Management Regulations of Transgenetic Biology will become a knob to control the soybean and rape import by Chinese government. After China's entering WTO, the main methods to take part in the international competition for the rape industry are through developing China's rape products to reduce the import of overseas rape and its products.The key points are to increase the quality of China's rape and reduce the production cost and strengthen the comprehensive utilization in order to improve the competitive power of China's rape.
