China is transitioning from the traditional agriculture to the modern agriculture. Under the framework of WTO, the industrialization of agriculture justifies this transformation, which was faced with both a challenge as well as an opportunity. As the industrialization of agriculture based on the land use, the realization of optimization in the suburb oriented on the industrialization is of significance for the agricultural industrialization.Pinggu District, Beijing is chosen as a case study area. Establishing on developing regional rural economies, the author uses multidisciplinary theories and methodologies, i.e. geosciences, regional economics, land economics, farm household economics, resource economics, agronomy, as well as mathematic and GIS to approach how the agricultural industrialization drive the land use and farm household behaviors. And then according to the resource advantage of Pinggu and the condition of industrialization, I optimize the agricultural land use oriented on the industrilization and advance relevant measures and advices to promote the agricultural industrialization in the District. The land use change from 1992 to 2001 was analyzed by comparing land use survey data of two particular periods, 1992 and 2001, respectively. The results show that great changes have taken place of the land use mode in the District: 1) the convertion from agricultural to non-agricultural land use is quite fast; 2) the land use convertion within the category of agricultural land use is mainly contributed by the rapid growing of orchards and vegetable croplands; 3) the land use degree exhibits a declining trend. The main driving forces for land use change are population and economic booming, urbanization and industrialization and the state and local development policy. Meanwhile, by using land use model the author discovers that the cultivated land conversion is the result of both urbanization and economic development. The author also analysed the labor and capital inputs based on the questionnaire surveys data from 116 farmer's households. Through establishing an labor quality input index model , it is found that there are great variations among the labor inputs of the fanner households of different industries , the order of input level is as follows: non-agricultural industrialization>cash crop>livestocks>vegetable land>orchard> grain crops land. Through approaching capital input factors of household, it is found that the capital inputs order is vegetable land>grain crops>orchard; the material inputs order is: vegetable land>orchard > grain crops land. Therefore, the labor factors inputs for households in different sectos agree well with capital factor inputs. Above results reveal that the relative benefits difference in different industries might be the main casue responsible for farmer households' input differences. As we analyzed the different input-output condition, we discover the result vary on condition that how to get it, it is determined by whether the analysis is based on input-output analysis of farmer household account or on the similar analysis in economics senses. However, analysis based on farmers householdaccount can disclose the driving mechanisms of land use choice and behavior patterns. Statistical analysis on farmer household survey shows that some problems should be addressed in urgent need in the process of agricultural industrialization, i.e. financial capital and technology service shortage unsmooth marketing channels for commodity circulation and distribution, unreasonably high price on agricultural produce materials. After the discussion on the sustainable land use planning which aimed at maximizing the economic benefit, the author thinks that the traditional sustainable land use planning is suitable only at a relatively small scale, however, for a such a larger scale as a county, the objective of economic benefits maximization is just on the paper instead of in practice due to its negligence of marke factors. However, industrialization-oriented land use planning and optimization can compensa...
