Systematic Analysis And Theoretical Thought On Contemporary British Social Security

The study on social security is a new field in our academy ,which is also a benificial subject in the establishment of China social security system both in its theory and practice. Europe is the origin of modern social security while Britain is the origin of Europe modern social security. British social security system has its own unique features. As China is now on the stage of legislation in the establishment of a comprehensive social security system, it is necessary to learn some advantages and avoid some disadvantages of British social security.Social security system is the result of the development of mass production and industrial revolution, which is also the symbol of modern country and civilization society. The peak of social security is the occurrence of welfare state. At present, more than 160 countries have established modern social security system in the world.The idea of social security is being enriched with the development of social economy. The social security was only considered as "Charity" at the begining. It did not include endowment insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, social welfare until capitalist society had come. The outstanding feature of British politics is party politics. Party politicsalso affects on British social security. As different parties have different policies on social security, the party leaders have much direct effect on social security policies.There also exists relationship between British social security system and social economics. Social economic condition decides the level of British social security system. Social security system must be provided with the material base and also must adapt to social economics development.
